her mother was shunned at a young age.

apparently there were rumors that spread around the district when her father had gone missing. this had not been the first time someone had made accusations about her though. her mother had always been the caretaker type, but sometimes she just, lost track of people.

dafne had learned of the things that her mother was called around the district. some of them were not as bad as you would think, but the rest of them? her expression always changed depending on how critical someone was of her.

it caused her mother to not leave her house, or at least her property in years. some people said that she had earned that property in unfair ways, but dafne knew that was wrong. it had been a house and land that had been passed down for generations, generations full of trauma and blood all soaked into dilapidated wood that was warping with every storm that raged through the district.

her mother could only weather them for so long. now that was dafne's job.

one that she would willingly take on for her.
