I don't care about living up to a legacy. All I want is to make myself proud.

This has been his motto for his entire life ever since he heard the stories of an ancestor competing in one of the earliest hunger games. Living up to family names is important and everything, but Luka knows that his own legacy rests in his own hands, and so many times people have tried getting him to live how they want him to. Everything he does works on his schedule. Training, eating, cleaning, studying, doing work. All of it comes down to what he wants, and sometimes it makes his parents mad when they want something done immediately.

Of course, he cares about what his family thinks of him as he ventures through life, but at the end of the day his own opinion of himself is the one that matters. Giving everything every ounce of his being is important, yet Luka has let himself down by not living up to his own expectations.

Life is a big adventure, and every day Luka steps into the world prepared to make his adventure and journey the best one yet. Living in the past only causes pain, Luka would know, but living in the present makes him realize just how important everything in life truly is.
