He breathes in sunshine, imagining the taste of citrus as it fizzes across his tongue. Beer ends up being nothing like that but the euphoric flush that follows is well worth his suffering, he decides. "How d'you do that?" Vega has made a home for herself on his lap, tipping her own to her lips and flecking little droplets onto his jeans in the process. Careful not to disturb the long draw she's taking, he gathers up her hair fanned out across his thighs and sets it safely out of the splash zone.

"Do what?" He cocks his head to the side, shuddering as the sea breeze nips at the back of his neck.

Vega holds out a finger, signalling for him to wait until she's finished her drink. Which she does, entirely in one go, which is a little impressive even if Evie is mostly concerned. "Aren't you going a bit fast?" He shakes his own bottle, still mostly full, and Vega grins with bared teeth as she taps her empty one against the glass.

"I went through a lot for this contraband, I deserve to enjoy it." She states, in spite of the rose petals now blooming on either cheek. Pink that bleeds into crimson the longer Everett watches. "'nyway, it's your smile. Your smiles so..." She tilts her head back to get a good look and Evie frowns because he bets it'll look kind of like a smile from upside down.

"honest." She barely utters the word, Evie isn't even sure he's supposed to hear it. "And you're always smiling too. Like it's so easy for you-" Vega has a bad habit of going somewhere Evie can't reach her, even though he still feels the warmth of her against him now. "guess I get jealous."

Evie takes another sip of stolen beer, letting his head fall back on his shoulders. She doesn't see how his expression goes slack then, crumbling for a split second before he staples it back in place.

"Trust me, Vee, there's nothing to be jealous of."
