Aren't you tired of being at the bottom? 

You, a Disciple of the Gods, have always had your life made for you, for who are you to decide after all? The Proprietor knows best, better than your own parents, son of carpenters that you are. You do not choose your family, nor your clothes, nor your purpose, nor your love. Everything is handed to you, and in exchange, you hand everything to him: to Todd. Try as you might, it takes everything in you to bite your tongue as you lose more and more. You dare not speak against the Divines, for you know the repercussions.

But damned be does it weigh on you. 

Not even in confessional do you feel safe to share yourself to the fullest, a part of you will always live inside the shell of your chest. It isn't safe to be yourself, to live outside the lilies of the valleys, so instead you keep quiet. Keep to yourself, your favorite person, and stay to the flowers. You have acquaintances in that of Hank, and of Delyse, and you have your siblings as well, but your true loyalty lies in that of her. Your fated partner. 

You witness the aftermath of her work, and shoulder the burden of the extremities they perform on her. Delphi has described the process, and a quiet rage builds in your fists as you imagine it - she is that of an oracle, cursed with a trigger that the other Divine use against her. You don't see her for her visions, or her eccentricity, but for the life she has inside of her. It's persistent, how she fights to be human despite how they drain her so, but when they leave her be, you are blessed to see the real her. 

It teases you so, for when you see her smile, you are convinced the Gods may just be real after all.
