An Explanation

After some debate amongst the staff as to whether or not we should go ahead and make the explanation as to why the member Sapphire (also known as Sap [not to be confused with Saph, our lovely advertiser] in the cbox) we decided that we'd keep it a private issue (we did for several weeks) until someone asked. At this point, someone has, so I'm going to go ahead and rationally state the precise reasons behind her leaving the site.
If you get right down to it, it's for the drama. I/We had noticed the outrageous amount of drama and self-pity Sap was attempting to create. It bothered us for some time, but we mostly let it go. But one evening on the cbox, she — claiming to be her (as far as we know) fictitious cousin Andy — was spewing some nonsense about her purportedly running away from home, etc.
Not fooled by this obvious sockpuppetry, I decided to look up the IPs. Lo and behold, same IP as was used on Sap's account, tracing to Texas. I sent a PM to her 'andy' account — blunt, but not particularly nasty or unkind — asking her (addressed to Sap) to please cut out the sockpuppeting/attention-seeking/drama-starting/etc. Both the 'andy' account and her main account were deleted (by herself, I might add) within the half hour.
A day or so later, she posted a thread as a guest, stating that she hadn't been quite honest with people on the site, and owned up to a lot of lying, but if you want to see that thread, you can look it up yourself (it's in intros/leaving threads) as it's not really worth my time to summarize. I locked the thread, out of a desire for the whole thing to be over with, for the site (and Sap) to move on and put it behind them.
Alas, this was (as I had expected) not the case, and Sap began reappearing in the cboxes from time to time, mostly lurking/trolling/etc. No action was taken immediately, but as a sort of precaution, her IP was banned from the forum — some of the more senior members of the staff have had experiences with similar problem members who keep leaving and trying to come back and starting more fights and drama. We've been more than sick of it since we've first dealt with it, and weren't going to put up with it now.
Sap was apparently furious with this, blaming me personally for mostly everything (I can only assume this is from me being the one to send her the PM that prompted her to delete her accounts) and began being, frankly, very rude and hateful (in public cboxes, no less!) and I have grown more than sick of the "Get. Over. Yourself." remarks (which, to be honest, might be warranted, but have absolutely zero relevance to the situation) and even some "Yeah, but I'm on the verge of trying to kill AYa."
These, I thought were childish, and decided to stop the nice, polite confidentiality — because if my reputation is somehow placed on the line, I've got the right to defend it; that's only fair.
So, in a few (perhaps a few too many) words, this is precisely why Sap received her ban, and what is going on with that situation.
