62.5th Hunger Games Arena
The Cornucopia
Of all the areas in the Arena, the Cornucopia appears to be the simplest at first glance. However, if you can get past the smell of the surrounding Peppermint Forest, you’ll notice the distinct smell of melting chocolate as you run toward the items. Small pools have already formed directly around the Cornucopia, and they seem to be expanding... quickly.
Peppermint Forest
As you flee from the Cornucopia, tread carefully. While the giant candy canes look stable, they aren’t secure in the ground and tend to fall with the slightest nudge. Some are even buried upside down, revealing terribly sharp peppermint spikes.
Gingerbread Plum Trees
The smell of gingerbread and plums is sure to hit you even before you see the tall trees. They’re lovely green and blue sights, rising tall around you and the plums look just so juicy and ripe! One plum can fill your entire hand and some are even larger. Why not relax in the sweet-smelling shade and have a bite?
Ice Cream Sea
The Ice Cream Sea is just what it sounds like, albeit formed out of every flavor of ice cream imaginable. Sure, it’s difficult to swim through, but the ice cream has taken to melting. Every few feet will be a lump of ice cream stable enough to stand on, but the sea is more liquid than anything.
Candy Castle
If you’ve got enough stupidity and luck to make your way through the Ice Cream Sea, you’ll eventually end up at the Candy Castle. Unlike the castle in the north, this castle doesn’t have one overwhelming smell. Part ice cream, part chocolate, and part everything else, the Candy Castle is a patchwork of select sweets, built primarily out of what look like large ice cream cones, if ice cream cones were steady enough.
Lollipop Woods
With vibrant colors at every turn, the Lollipop Woods are a pleasant sight for any weary tribute that might wander in. They’re made out of candy, of course, but the gigantic lollipops aren’t for licking. They stand so tall that a tribute couldn’t even attempt to climb upwards, and every so often the calm candies will take to shaking, disturbing the ground below and sometimes even dropping chunks of hard candy to the pink earth.
Gumdrop Pass
In the distance, gumdrops the size of mountains loom, brightly colored, but first, you must pass through the Gumdrop Pass. Narrow and demeaning, all around you, bright gumdrops rise, but they cast you into darkness, leaving you unable to see what’s ahead. Who knows what could be looming in this slim passage?
Gumdrop Mountains
Bright and tall, these mountains are like nothing you’ve ever seen before. They sparkle in the sun, sugary and colorful, just good enough to eat it seems. A closer inspection reveals them to be gumdrops, huge ones, but they’re not the eating kind and should you care to climb them, you may find that they’re a lot more than just candies.
Molasses Swamp
Passing the grandeur of the gumdrops, licorice and peppermints, you will eventually come across the murky, brown swamp of molasses. Sticky and moist, it looks like the most unappetizing thing in the entire Arena, but don’t get too hung up, or rather, stuck up on it. It’s sweet all the same, right?
Licorice Castle
The smell of this enormous beauty may hit you before you even see it. Licorice. It is castle made entirely out of black licorice with dark purple domes, casting long shadows across the candied land. It looks fit for a king or a queen should you decide to declare it your own and make it your residence. But, take care, tribute, for you should never trust anything so beautiful.
