Vallen WatkinsThey came to say goodbye, his parents and siblings, and all of them cried except him. Being a puppet in a game is undesirable, yet he choice is gone. Freedom went out the door like a leave blowing carelessly in the wind the moment his name was called and nobody stepped forward to save him. Why would they? Life is selfish, and so many people live only caring about themselves, and now that he's venturing into the unknown, Vallen realizes how selfish he is. His entire life has been spent building robots and practically ignoring his family. This short period to say goodbye will never undo the time he's lost with them by staying in his room creating tiny robots.
But if I win, I'll do what I can to make it up to them.
Watching them leave was more difficult than he imagined. The heartbroken sobs echo through his mind as his mom is dragged out of the room. The words from earlier that day set heavily on his chest.
So much time wasted, and now I'm probably just going to die.
Even as they lead him from the justice building to the train, Vallen can't take his mind off anything. A horrible hand has been given to him, and bluffing isn't his strong suit. Every heartbeat feels like a complete lifetime.
I don't know what to do.
A heavy sigh leaves his chest as he boards the train. Wide eyes take it all in. The furniture is beautiful and fancy, and he's absolutely terrified he's going to break something. The views from the window are breathtakingly gorgeous. This is his home for the next few hours until it arrives at the prison holding cell of the Capitol. Walking around through the train, Vallen snags a glass of water from the table as well as a couple of cookies before taking a seat next to the window where he will enjoy watching the world go by as he journeys to his next location.
