Vallen Watkins

The first creation isn't quite the masterpiece Vallen had hoped for, but it's still helping him move forward in the right direction. Now, all he's left with is trying to make this thing actually work. So many failed attempts in life caused him to realize that failure isn't from making mistakes. Throughout his years, Vallen has made many mistakes, but none of them were enough to make him into a failure. No, they taught him ways not to build a robot, and the only way he would fail is if he gave up completely. And now that he's here, giving up isn't an option. Maybe that's why he's tossed a few broken robots off to the side since they're not completed, and they'll never amount to anything.

But now, he holds a finished one in his hand, and while it isn't his best work, he takes a moment to take it all in. It's nothing special, and in fact, it's not his best work, yet he did what he could given the equipment he's been forced to work with. This is nothing compared to everything he has at home, and maybe it's supposed to be that way since he doubts anyone will actually take the time to build an actual robot once inside the arena. At least he's left with something.

Moving a stack off to the side, he scoots his way back over towards the rest of the supplies spread across the table. His eyes are wide as they dart back and forth from one side of the table to the other, and in that moment, Vallen realizes he's forgot something important. Reaching over to grab it, he slowly makes his way back to where he was sitting. The different wires feel strange in his hand, but at least, it's something he's capable of working with, and maybe, just maybe, he can prove to himself that even with limited supplies, anything is possible.
