A wind sighs gently as the last tribute departs, leaving only the last remaining alliance in the now blood-soaked meadow, them and the archway. For a moment, nothing happens.
Then from beyond the shimmering veil of the entrance, a bluish light pulses and glows brighter, all before disappearing completely. There is no shimmer in the space between the archway now. Instead, the mouth of a tunnel greets the alliance, leading to a deep, earthy darkness. They hear a sound of movement soon after, heavy thuds and clomping, and from within the tunnel, four gryphons – each one as regal as the next – step out, unfurling their majestic, jewel-toned wings. They purr gently, almost in greeting, and lower themselves to present the various treasures strapped to their backs:Woodland Cloak: Sewn together by a lacework of glass-like leaves, this transparent cloak grants the wearer enhanced camouflage skills and makes it easy for them to blend in with their surroundings. Once per day, by turning near invisible, the wearer can negate the first attack on them, excluding insta’s. The item has 2/2 charges before its properties fade.Spear Of The Wild: A long spear with strange symbols engraved along its length. It emits a wood-scented miasma in a radius that scares off any mutated beasts, excluding the gryphons. Once per day, the wielder can use their turn to stun any mutt they are fighting for 1 round, barring mutts found in feasts. If it is a mutt pack with multiple attacks, roll a 1dN (N=Numbers of tributes being attacked) and the number will determine how many attacks are nullified. Otherwise, the weapon functions as a normal spear.Gloomblade: At first glance the long sword appears almost unusable, its handle wrapped in a thick cluster of brightly-coloured fungus, but closer inspection reveals a wickedly sharp blade. It is made of a material faeries fear most: cold iron.Adds +1 necrotic damage to all hits that deal 6 damage or higher, but it will not stack the blades station or any damage perk. Additionally, if the attack roll cuts or punctures skin (e.g. deep gash, shallow cut) the item has a single charge that can be expended to poison the target. Once the charge is expended, only the +1 damage bonus remains.Sun/Moon Amulets: These twin amulets are delicately crafted with intricate details, one a sunburst and the other a crescent moon. Legend has it these amulets were forged by two archfeys who loved one another enough to store a silver of their own souls in each amulet and give it to the other person to wear. Must be worn by two tributes. It grants an additional +1 healing to each tribute per day. If one of the wearers dies, the glow from within the amulets fades and so does the healing perk. Each alliance member is allowed a single item. The gryphons may also be chosen as mounts to grant extra travel, if the alliance wishes. They look hale and powerful.Note: All effects of these items stop working at Top 8.
