For the first time in what felt like forever I left Will’s side.
Throughout the time in the training center, we became almost inseparable. Days spent together training, meals we shared and nights getting her camera ready for all the events the capitol had thrown our way. What started out as a project turned into something that I would almost call fun. Even when she seemed annoyed at me which granted was a good ninety nine percent of the time, there was still an element of something else that I could not quite place my thumb on.
Today she seemed more annoyed with me than usual. I guess that’s what your impending death would do to you. We were in the arena of fairytales and nightmares after all.
I sliced off a bit of cloth from my dress using my new and improved nails to make a makeshift mask hoping it would help get rid of some of the stench leaking from the woods we found ourselves in. I hated to ruin a perfectly good outfit, especially one that made me look like that royalty I was. It felt like I was destroying the one bit of appreciation of my status that the capitol granted me. It all hinted towards the fact that I would have to destroy my own thrown and rebuild my kingdom in order to get out of here.
Desperate times called for desperate measures.
The bright red flame seelie that seemed to take a liking to me hovered over a small patch of fauna unlike the rest of the cursed plants inhabiting the area. Luna was already sat on the small oasis and seemed to be lost in thought. Out of the group, she was the hardest to get a read on, while I was convinced that she was an ally I needed, I did not know her like I knew Will or Thomas.
What better way to get into someone’s head than a good old-fashioned game. Back to my roots and what I knew better than anything else in the world.
"Entertain me for a second, my dear" I hissed as I sat down next to her. "We both know you’ve made your judgements on our cohort. So, tell me…Fuck, marry, kill. If you would only have to kill one that is." I gave a slight chuckle at the idea that it really did not matter, they would all be dead in a few days’ time. A vaugue smile at everyone's impending fate was warrented.Table credit: Dars
