Sacrifice almost dodged the attack, allowing only a tiny scratch on her back. She even managed to fall the training dummy in a second quick stab. She knew that the other tributes would not be so easy to kill, yet that fight had boosted her confidence. After reapplying her wrist bandage and putting a tiny one on her back, Sacrifice was about to walk off the stage before the floor drifted beneath her.
Her fall was less than graceful, to be nice about it. The dull throbbing pain from impact radiated through her as Sacrifice gained her bearings. She hoped that there weren't any cameras to catch that, but the Gamemakers probably thought that she had it too easy and wanted to embarrass her again. She can't help but think about what her mother thought, her only daughter fighting with such ease, only to be taken by surprise by a trap door. In the lighting that seeps through the opening, she could spot more bandages and an empty canteen.
"So maybe the Gamemakers aren't completely cruel." Sacrifice thought to herself as she put the items in her bag. Clearly, the Gamemakers weren't the only ones impressed with her performance, as when she pulled herself out from the hole, she was greeted with items from sponsors. A steel chest plate and a keycard to the Gamemaker suite. Praying that her good luck did not run out, she donned the steel chest plate and went to the training center.
She was disappointed that she wasn't the first to enter the suite, as evident by the slight mess left behind. While it sucked to know that she would not receive the most options, she was still lucky to receive this gift and tried to open the door to the vault, only to find it didn't work on the first one. She looked closer at the card, realizing it was for Gieger's valuit.
"Oh, the surly one? Why would they both need their own vault? I'm curious to know what twisted things he has hidden away, though." Sacrifice thought to herself as she approached the second vault. Red-lighted cameras and pistols that she somehow missed in her haste flare to life, a robot voice called out its warning.
"SECURITY SYSTEMS ENGAGED - PLEASE PRESENT ACCESS MATERIALS"
She jumped at the voice and hesitantly waved the critical card over the keypad for the second door. Her heart beat heavily as she waited and let out the breath she didn't realize she was holding as the door swung inward. She did not want to think about what would happen if the Gamemakers caught her stealing from their vault, especially the surly one, so she grabbed the first item she could, not allowing herself time to think about what would have been the most useful, and bolted out of there before the door could close in on her.
