I had been standing in front of the elevator for ten minutes, my finger hovering over the button. I had no idea where Sunrise or Sib are. I had no idea if Jimmy's body was still inside the elevator in a pool of his own blood. I needed to see. I needed to see if he was still there or if he was gone. My finger trembles and my breathes come faster as my pulse begins to race. Instantly I snatch it my hand away, holding it to my chest. I couldn't do it.
Turning away from the elevator I flee into the interview hall. Quietly I take a seat in the darkness, curling my legs up to my chest only to be startled with the sound of a canon booms through the building instantly causing me to jump to my feet. My heart races in my chest and my palms become sweaty. I should have felt concern that the cannon belonged to either Sunrise or Sib...
But instead, I find myself hoping that it sung for Jackson Reeves.
