"how many times to i have to tell you luca? its mari. not aquamarine." she paused for a moment as she held the knife steady. "not any more at the least." she let the knife go with a gentle force that most of her fellow classmates couldnt match.

she once used to live with her mother. she was close to her, so much so that she let her, and everyone else call her aquamarine. she used to love her name, mostly because it always rolled off the tongue. she had such a soft light about her, that was until a tide had come in a little too sudden and washed her mother away along with it.

thats when mari was born, a girl that went from being sweet and innocent to a crazed cynic who only cared about a few things in this world. she always blamed her father, because he was never a good influence on her. his power hungry ways were admired by mari just enough for her to consider not leaving anything behind.
