emmett steele
(this is an extension of the dnd "olympians" campaign, in the years following the Civil War as well as the pantheon and their children's battle)
His constitution was high, but the nausea that comes from an uneasy vessel was impossible to ignore. Emmett remained on the above-board suite that he and Troy spent most of their evenings on. Troy was a sailor and Emmett was not, but a warmed blanket between lovers allowed him to consider himself a seafaring warrior for the time. He was along for the journey, outside of the city where haunting memories of a war between gods lurched like leeches on his skin.
When would Troy come back to bed? Rarely did Emmett travel onto the main deck with him, especially not for a prolonged period. Stop playing pirate, he thought, staring through the back window at a beating sun that set over the ocean's blue. It surprised him that Ares had yet to interfere in their conquest. Even in the pantheon, where sexuality and romance were held in a fluid regard, he always got the sense that his father disapproved of him. Son of Ares, God of War, who once ravaged villages in the war, now diminished into affairs only consisting of love, for Poseidon's son, too. The men aboard the vessel surprised him most with their acceptance of his and Troy's relationship. Homosexuality and bonding between men were encouraged on ships that largely restricted men's wives from a prolonged stay.
Emmett's face buried into their pillows as their mattress swayed left, right, left, but never quite moved. "Troy…!" He groaned, huff after huff displaying his impatience. Surely, the crew could take the reins for the rest of the night.
