Admittedly, young Mayor Novak ran on a platform of many things in the 90th Elections, which you can read more about in his original tracker HERE. Initially, Novak's plans were largely a smokescreen to help his Uncle, Elio, expand the territory and influence of his "business." To still act on these promises he made in his campaign, Novak created a cabinet to help divide the work done on the district. They included political allies, such as Sheriff Yury Catastrophe as well as what he deemed to be political opponents, such as Cygnus and the Emberstatts. He also recruited Wren Horowitz for community relations and events and Donnie Hayver, who was tasked with Hunger Games & Tribute Remembrance. Novak's initial goals were to distract the public with progress while his Uncle bought & ran out some smaller businesses on the outskirts of Ten to expand their empire.

In his first year as mayor, Novak revived an old festival for District Ten, The District Ten Derby. Using horse transportation to easily bring citizens from near and far to the event, members of District Ten were able to enjoy the festival similar to county fairs of the past. Headling the event was the District Ten Derby, a horse race that ultimately saw Victor Mace Emberstatt take home the derby trophy. There was also a bidding war from visiting Capitolites to get their sponsorship of the event. The ultimate sponsor got their name on the Derby Trophy. While it was never written, Novak's uncle and his associates secretly took some of the money raised for District Ten. Novak knew of this.

In the heat of the Rose Plague, there was an influx of medicine being brought to District Ten via the trains. Novak and his family's underground empire gained word that another family, the Martens, were drawing up plans to steal the entirety of the shipment. To gain more information, Novak sent Sheriff Yury Catastrophe to infiltrate and discover more about their plans. This thread detailed communications between the two, with Novak playing chess with his uncle in between. After discovering their plans, Mayor Novak ordered Yury Catastrophe, with the help of a runner named Alabama Ottz, to board the train and fight the conductor, who was planning to smuggle the medicine. You can read that thread HERE. The mayor's team won out. While much of these medicines and drugs were distributed to the sick in District Ten, Novak and his family kept a portion and sold them at high rates, pinning the missing medicine on the Martens.

Late one night, Mayor Novak, along with his bodyguard, went to the local saloon to meet with one of his uncle's partners, Merritt. Word had gotten out that Merritt was going to squeal about his uncle's stash of guns, betraying the family and the empire. Novak was sent to exert control, and perhaps dominance, over the situation. However, he was quickly interrupted by Enzo Emberstatt, family to his political opponents. Novak entertained Enzo with a game of pool as well as a few shots. Impatiently, Novak played along, eventually throwing the game to Enzo to try and shake the gregarious boy off of his back. However, one drink led to another, and the promise of strip poker... well...

Novak woke up with someone else in his bed... Enzo Emberstatt! Shit! Once a family that he campaigned against with pretend hatred, he was now lying in bed with one of them. He realized this as a mistake right away, trying to stealthily get Lorenzo dressed and out of his room. It was a one-night stand, and nothing more! Novak ended up leading Lorenzo out through an underground tunnel he had constructed from his closet to an abandoned shed not too far out. Enzo saw Novak's panic room decked out with a rifle, displaying Novak's paranoia and preparedness if something happened to him. But Novak's desires bled through him the entire day, and eventually, the mayor found himself at Lorenzo's doorstep for another night.

This thread starts out with Novak negotiating with Father Alban Garcia, Head of the Church of Todd, about receiving public land to expand their Church. The land wasn't in use or significant, but Novak identified Father Alban as a cult leader and entertained the land grant to keep them at bay, but also to gain their favor in his next election. Later, Novak was visited during work hours by his boyfriend, Enzo. The two kept their relationship a secret, and Enzo leveraged this by asking Novak for a favor: to save his former orphanage. With a little bit of research, Novak found out that the orphanage, known as the Pound, was being bought out by his uncle's empire, and there were plans to replace it with a gentleman's club. Outside of this thread, an in-love Novak, along with Enzo, financed a purchase of The Pound. While he largely keeps his nose out of it and allows Enzo to deal with the orphanage, Novak's name is on the deed.

In the months leading up to the election, Novak was growing more and more paranoid about his safety. His mind raced through the number of political enemies he had, or thought that he had. One night, he could've sworn there was a laser pointed through his window. He missed his partner terribly while he was away in District Four partying. Recognizing his paranoia and anxiousness, Novak's uncle, close family, and friends hosted an intervention for him where they tried to find a physical and romantic partner. Novak accused them of coddling him, and stormed away from them. He didn't need his own family to find a relationship for him! Missing Enzo, Novak went to the back alleys of a club to have a hook-up. When he arrived back home, he discovered that an intruder was ravaging his room. Novak and this intruder got into a physical altercation, and the intruder took Novak's gun, which was hidden underneath his desk, and shot Novak in the knee.
