95th tracker - Seb Alfaro - D13 Presidential Candidate

Seb Alfaro had more laurels than half the adults she knew in Thirteen. Ex-military, current medic, future revolutionary – it was an impressive resume. I had to admire how much he had managed to achieve in a place that somehow simultaneously always felt like it was on the brink of the greatest breakthrough of the modern age, and yet still didn’t know how to keep its citizens satisfied.

The flyers had been distributed. Seb Alfaro wanted war, yet he wanted peace. History shows the two do not tend to go hand in hand. I’d balled up the paper that was slid under my door and tossed it into the waste, only to have five new flyers appear on my bedspread the next day. His influence was spreading.

But maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, having Seb Alfaro in charge.

Twenty years his junior, and I already knew more than he did: ‘kind’ and ‘thoughtful’ were not the way to bring about change. That was not how the world was ruled, and sooner or later, that would come to be proven to everyone. Five years from now, when Seb Alfaro reached the end of his term with nothing to show for his soft heart... that would be the time for my reign. I just had to bide my time.

I find myself batting my eyelashes innocently at the handsome man who approaches, shuffling papers in his hand and peering at me intensely. The revolution begins like this:
