You shouldn’t be here, but the missing posters blew away in the wind years ago.

They found you one frosty morning in your sixth year, you strayed too far from home and into theirs. You proved your worth, the basket of bread and medicines destined for someone else were their miracle cure. You were their gift from the gods.

”What is your name?” They asked.

”Vitali.” An old voice you can barely remember told you it meant life-giver.

”In the god’s language, you will be named Lifthrasir.” And so that is who you became, for twelve years you’ve only been Lifthrasir. The gods brought you here to bring life.

Even when the gods are at war with each other, changing the seasons and staining the world with a non-survivable climate you perform the impossible. Wheat born from dry earth. Fruits are harvested through the frost by your own doing. You’ll be sure that nobody in the commune goes hungry. Not like the starving little boy with the god gifted basket that strayed here.

You look different to most of them but there are some like you, chosen by the gods to join the commune and bare the Forrester name.

That pre-life, the time before the gods ever spoke to you, it doesn’t matter anymore. Whoever your mother was, her only purpose was to bring you into this world so you could be brought here. Her gods and traditions were false. You need to let go of them. But that name, Vitali, you’re sure you can hear it being called in the wind. It is just the god of mischief teasing you, that is what the other’s say.

But the name of who you were before still fills your mind whenever they call you, Lifthrasir.
