suddenly my world is plunged into darkness and I press myself against the the rough bark of a near by tree, biting back the cry of pain that surges through me at the sudden movement. The frozen branch I was using as a walking stick I clutch to my chest as I peer up at the canopy above me.

The pounding of strong powerful wings boomed around me and mist and snow is whipped into the air as the cry of a predator threatens to burst my ear drums. "I am soooo screwed," I hiss as my eyes catch sight of white feather wins and a beak so sharp that it looked like it would be able to swiftly rip my arms from my body with the blink of an eye.

The beast spots me and dives for me and I stumble backwards swinging my pathetic tree branch, that could pass as a fucking toothpick, at it as though I could scare it off.
