Lucky took no qualms leading the group back to the cabin. The branch that had fallen a few yards from his feet startled him. Every part of him was on edge, even when he looked back and the branch was barely alight. Could ashes start on fire again? Why the f- heck was there a creepy circle surrounded by a dozen burning trees? It was a ton of trouble waiting to happen, not a ton as in "a lot" but a ton as in two thousand freaking pounds of it!
Lucky entered through the front door of the cabin today, taking Felicity Carrow's advice. "Last time, I found some food in the pantry, but there's gotta be more stuff in here." He stepped delicately passed the charred and half-destructed furniture in the den, searching the drawers and shelves of the cabin. "Felicity was in here for a reason. She's smart like that." He reminded Gunner and Xylia that she'd gotten a ten as her training score, and therefore must be taken seriously as a thread.
He stayed away from the kitchen this time, learning his lesson from the cabinets. They were out of his reach, even with his height, and all he got for it was a can of mac and cheese soup and a stubbed thumb that hurt throughout the night. Lucky turned to Xylia who was searching in the same room. Gunner, the black cat that he was, had disappeared from his sight. "Where do you think everyone went?" He rummaged through the drawers underneath what looked to be remnants of a coffee table. "It's like… a dead zone out there?" It surprised him that they didn't run into any problems on their adventure today– not even a mutt.
The silence from the arena around them irked Lucky. His neck straightened, and the grip on his spear grew tighter.
Something was coming. It had to be.
"You've got to be kidding me." Lucky pulled another can from underneath the table. Caesar Flickermac n' Cheese Soup. This one? Pink.
