Anthem - Day 3

Have you been having fun in the arena? Feeling relaxed are you?

The audience watching on is growing inpatient. All the excitement they've gotten is a few broken generators and tribute laid traps being triggered. Where are the battles? With the gathering in the mines, the Gamemakers hoped there would be some action underground but not even the disturbed mutated bats drew blood.

Well, if everyone is so comfortable down in The Mines, may as well trigger some action down there too! Ivan Korsch takes the lead in the Gamemaker's headquarters for Day Three. A man with a mission to innovate The Hunger Games. Ninety years of sword fights, Panem needs something different and Ivan is about to deliver that. "You can give the mutts another day off, we won't be needing them today!" He tells Hades.

On Day Three, the weather in the arena takes a turn. Blistering winds batter the trees of the Wintry Forest and Witch's Woods. Snowfall is thick and visibility is poor, the voice over the speaker tells the tributes that the only safe place to shelter is down The Mines. Any tribute with a brain in their skull will question if this is a trap but they have very few options. Play the Gamemaker's Game or succumb to hypothermia?

Once down the mines, the walls and floors that surround the tributes begin to quake. Wooden panels fly from the walls and the rocks that hold together the mine shafts begin to crumble. Tributes must try and avoid this debris or they will become crushed beneath it. Just to add to their misery, the annoying voice from earlier speaks once again.

"Treasure is buried deep in these mines, there are new tunnels for you to explore! There are a few maps with a juicy X on them down there somewhere too! You're not alone down here, it is a full party! Remember some of your knives are lacking blood...let the treasure hunt begin!"

Two days in the arena, and still twenty-two other tributes stand between you and your survival. Do you play the game or cut that number down?
