Fraser Birk.
Sharing a stage with the man that ordered his execution is one strong feat because Fraser restrained himself from throwing punches into his direction. The same man that helped bring him into the world (with little effort – his mom did all the work). The same man that brought him up and promises this wonderful future that he had planned out. All these years of calling him father have gone to waste, along with the energy of trying to impress him. Now it all ends with his father reading out his name. Did he even read it? He bets his name wasn’t even on the paper. This was all planned the moment he was locked out of his house, there was never going to be a meeting with hisfatherHarvey after the reaping.
It is all brewing inside of his head as he sits in silence opposite the girl on the train. He wants to tear off the metal walls of the carriage and sprint his way back to Seven. Claim that unfinished business that he should’ve thrown on that stage. What he’d give to pummel one big sucker punch in Harvey’s nose right now. Wow the fury is really bursting at the seams of Fraser Birk. whose sat rigid and upright on the carriage seat. His fists are clenched and his teeth baring, his eyes aren’t seeing anything just Harvey’s face.
Then they see Amber Bosch’s face.
”Bosch?” He relaxes after the question and answers it himself. ”You’re the girl,” There’s a rewind of memories in his head, he is sure he has heard that name before. Good or bad, maybe a loaner or, ”You’re the girl that has a crush on me!” One of many. There’s a long line of self-confessed admirers and he is sure there’s more with the secret crushes too. ”Uhmm, I am pretty sure it was someone at the Lumber Mill…your brother!” He drops her sibling in it, hoping it brings a burst of embarrassment. He loves when girls blush, them exterior reveals of emotions that they try so hard to suppress, all caused by him!
”Aren’t we lucky to be alone in here? Too bad we could die soon but,” Fraser pushes himself to his feet with the table that divides him and Amber. ”This is the perfect opportunity for a first date!” One last rodeo with a girl, even if she seems way below his league. She is not a face he’s seen with his group of people and if her brother works at the mill, well…poor.
There’s a glass jug filled with dark red liquid, and another filled with clear. Fraser clinks two glasses together and turns to Amber. ”Do you take water or wine?” He asks, plastering on a welcoming smile. He has done well to suppress the absolutely rage that was boiling over just moments ago. This will be the perfect distraction for him too, thinking about what has just happened isn’t going to help him with what is about to happen.
