Growing up, Ba dreamt of being a victor of the Hunger Games. He so desperately wanted to train himself for the task, volunteer, fight his way through, and come home the winner. His parents stunted that possibility for him, though. They wouldn't let him or his brother train.

Still to this day, though, Ba is determined to have a victor in the family somewhere. So now he adopts orphaned children and sharpens them into top-tier careers. His family's mansion even has its own training center attached: the Duat.

The Ma'at family seems to be ever-growing. As children in the family age out of the reaping, Ba employs them as trainers in the Duat. If they haven't volunteered for the Games themselves, he believes that they should at least help hone the skills of their siblings who aim to be future victors.

The Ma'at family is a family of career kids adopted by Ba Ma'at with the goal of training them into future victors of the Hunger Games. The family lives in a mansion and has their own training center attached to it known as the Duat. Kids in the family who age out of the reaping help train their siblings there. The family is very wealthy and many of them see themselves of a 'godly' status of sorts in a sense of thinking they're better than everyone else.

Housekeeper and caretaker at the Ma'at mansion

Geb Ma'at - 23, he/him

One of the eldest children in the family, considered the 'rock' that his siblings lean on. Nut is his biological twin sister.

Nut Ma'at - 23, she/her

One of the eldest children in the family, often has her 'head in the clouds' and has some pretty big dreams. Geb is her biological twin brother.

Serket (or Serqet) Ma'at - 21, she/her

'Venomous' in the way she speaks, she's also been exceptionally bitter since she aged out of the reaping after having hesitated for a moment too long when it came to her last chance to volunteer. Getting on her bad side often sets you up for a lifelong rivalry, or a least a one-sided grudge from her.

Ra (or Re) Ma'at - 18, he/him

The family's 'golden child' that Ba insists will be the one to bring the family the glory of victorship. He's very confident in himself, and many of the other kids idolize him. He's smart enough to use this to his advantage, and is quite charismatic.

Apep (or Apophis) Ma'at - 18, he/him

The textbook 'problem child' that Ba insists will be the reason something goes wrong 'one of these days'. He's been going to parties since he was thirteen, spending his weekends drinking and smoking with his friends. He doesn't care about Ba's desire to have a victor kid— his desire to be a victor is all his own.

Bastet (or Bast) Ma'at - 18, she/her
Hardcore career, extremely determined to become a victor. She's always 'warring' with Apep (Apophis) and is always determined to be better than him, even if that just means partying even harder than he does.

Hathor Ma'at - 18, she/her

She's oftentimes the joy of the household, trying to uplift the others' spirits. Very optimistic, she and Nut get along very well.

Set (or Seth) Ma'at - 17, he/him

Chaotic by nature, he loves to cause problems. He loves to mess with people, although sometimes he goes a bit far. Playing jokes on the more gullible people he knows is a favorite pastime of his, and he's pretty efficient at getting away with it, since he's a well-trained liar.

Khonsu Ma'at - 16, he/him

Fascinated by the dark, he often sneaks out at night to wander about the district if he can make it far enough off of the Ma'at estate's grounds. He loves the sounds of the world late at night, and is quick on his feet well enough to keep out of danger when he's strolling under the moon's light. He's also quite the agile fighter, and is always prepared in case things do go south when he's out and about, improvising what's around him to fight back if he needs to.

Horus Ma'at - 16, he/him

He dreams of being a warrior. He's overly confident in many aspects of his life, and thinks that he deserves the best of everything. He's one of the more talented kids in the family when it comes to sword fighting.

Osiris Ma'at - 15, he/him

Living in the shadows, fascinated by life and by death, many overlook him. Observant, he's used to waiting and watching. Many aren't sure what to expect from him, although he's learned what to expect of many of them.

Anubis Ma'at - 14, he/him

He's always been fascinated by death and funerals, ever since his biological parents died. Attending burials for those he doesn't even know, watching from a ways back but still listening— it's a casual afternoon for him. Most folks see him as strange and off-putting due to his interests, so he finds himself bonding best with those who are either grieving or who have become numb to the grief like him.

Hapi Ma'at - 13, they/he

With a love for swimming, they're the reason that Ba installed an even bigger pool at the Ma'at family mansion. His fascination for cooking elaborate meals also prompted the start of a garden on the mansion's grounds, which he and Sobek often tend to together.

Sobek Ma'at - 13, he/him

Many see him as off-putting with his odd collections of animal teeth and unusual trinkets, but he gets on quite well with Hapi. Sobek has a love for nature that is never quite satiated, and often has to be ushered back into the house late at night when it's been realized that he's not in bed yet.

Thoth Ma'at - 12, he/him
[OPEN]
A child prodigy and the youngest of the family, Thoth is extremely intelligent for his age. He's always been the type to find something interesting and study as much as he possibly can on it, still remembering every little fact to recite back to you years later. He's very social and sweet, but his factoids tend to get to be a bit overwhelming for some people.
