she is still fuming over the whole bracelet thing.

she told florence, or whatever the hell was her name that if she did not give it back to her by the end of the train, she would make it her mission to hunt her down in the arena.

obviously flo didnt care enough, or just thought of it as an empty threat. before she could even say another word, the train had come to a halt, and they were whisked away by hoards of capital citizens just waiting to meet them.

everything here was dripping in opulence, and pearl did not know how to behave. she had been used to a silver spoon life, but even this was out of her comfort zone. this was platinum and titanium combined into one. as she walked through the training center to her room, annie made it very clear that this was her chance to take everything in and live just a little more lavishly then she might have.

she did not bring much with her from home, because she had to always prepare for the worst. a small tote, a mini handbag just in case she had to make social appearances, nothing too gaudy or even worse, heavy. this was the hunger games after all. pearl was confident in her abilities, but the tributes from four were dead proof that anything could happen.

besides, her mother knew that pearl wouldnt have wanted a million bags to carry through the justice building.

she took a step up, then another, and the sound of the pavement under her heels didnt match up with the sound from four. maybe it was all built differently. when she looked onward towards the platform that was marked as training center, pearl realized that florentina wasnt there. she must be making it a point to hide from her.

oh well, pearl would be scared of her too.

however, there was another girl waiting at the platform, and judging from the people she had already seen, pearl deduced that she wasnt from here either. another tribute. thats all she could assume. pearl didnt want to pay too much mind, because there wasnt a point. in a week or so, they would be fighting for their lives.

but one wrong footstep and pearl had stumbled forward a little bit. the tote bag's weight threw her off her balance, she caught herself, but her mini handbag had hit the ground, but at the same time the other had fallen over her excessive amount of baggage.

before pearl could say anything though, the other had already chimed up. judging from the footage, she looked like the girl from nine. she just couldnt place the name. she offered to pick up her purse for her. pearl's thoughts had gone a little haywire in that moment, but she only shook her head. "i got it." pearl waved her hand before taking in the sight of so many material things.

it almost broke her heart.

she looked at the other as she picked up her bag, and then extended out her hand, a rarity, seeing as she had always been someone to ignore anyone that might be in her peripheral. maybe pearl was intrigued. thats what she was going to go with at the least.

"just couldnt leave all the baggage behind huh?" a double entendre if there ever was one.
