The adrenaline still courses through my veins after pillaging the remains of the Rubble Field for the relevant and necessary items. Unfortunately, that adrenaline did not transfer to my muscles, as I couldn't pull out the sword, I found from the stone it laid imbedded in. The sword seemed to glow when the light hit it right, and the bronze plaque only contained the legible letters of "C", "a", and "b". Maybe not being able to pull out the sword is a good thing; I don't want to bring any attention towards Cynder and myself if I don't have to. I need to work off the adrenaline though, so I decide to make my way east. At least I'm assuming it is east if the artificial sun still follows the same rules. Leaving Cynder behind probably wasn't the smartest idea, but she managed to find a place to hide, so I thought I would use the excess energy to scout.
After passing the abandoned training area, not noticing any useful weapons, I continue into the thick of the trees. As I continue deeper, the feeling of encapsulation only grows as the light becomes hidden behind the thick canopy of the leaves. I continue forward, hoping to that by continuing east, I'll be able to find something. My efforts are finally rewarded when light manages to break through the thinning of the leaves and the underbrush gives way to pristine, glass like water. The view is breathtaking as various pools of clear water dot the landscape in front of me. It's almost as if the water is staring back at me though. Paths of emerald, green moss creates walkways that weave through the ponds.
"I found a water source, good." I think to myself as I test the sturdiness of the moss, forever grateful that these boots appear to be a great quality. I go down to take a drink when I notice towards the back of the area that the trees have created a circle. While everything in this place has been made and designed by humans, this is certainly more noticeable than other parts of the arena. It only stands out more because of the steadily erect beam of sunlight that seems to be radiating out of the circle. It's hard to say whether the beam of sunlight is coming out of or descending into the circle.
I know it's probably not the smartest idea to go to a place that incessantly whispers, "come here," but the need to know overtakes my logical thinking. I make my way closer, hoping to figure out its secrets.[DARS]
