The tension had subsided in his body as he felt calmer with a sturdy weapon in hand. It was time to return to where a king once sat upon the throne. Andres trudged over the rubble and carefully moved himself between the marble pillars until eventually he could see the familiar cornucopia again. He clung to his spear as he peered behind bushes and trees before emerging into the light. Something caught his eye when he was here, but the cacophony of the battle scared him off. He slowly moved towards the scattered remains of a once grand building and that familiar glint hit his eye again. He glanced around him again before reaching down and plucking the small object from the ground. It was a gold coin.
He huffed a laugh, that's what he risked his skin for, a coin. It was like being back in the district all over again. Risking one's life just for a scrap of coin to feed yourself. He shook away the past off of his shoulders and moved on. He grabbed a few more things and, using the ever-handy bag he managed to grab, he placed them inside and continued to explore. He slowly moved towards the banners that hung solemnly on the remaining pillars. A knight, in a bloody battlefield, engulfed in golden light. He felt the sun now staring down at him making his body warm with its embrace. He pictured himself in the visage, and he slowly turned his head to see that knight be crowned. That would be him. Filled with a new found vigour he continued on through the rubbles of the castle before going to explore more of the arena.
