The scarlet wyvern doesn’t let Georgie through. Instead, its feet touch the floor of the forest, and it lands just a few feet away from her. She’s completely still, eyes shifting from left to right. There’s no way Georgie can outrun the thing, she needs to try harder with the commands.
Think like a wyvern, speak like a wyvern. She’s done it before, with Tortoise. They move slow but tortoises definitely have a lot of thoughts inside of their shell and well, this wyvern is about one hundred tortoises so that’s a lot of thoughts to think.
”I com-“ She cuts herself off, perhaps a dominant approach is not the way. ”I ask. That you let me past.” Georgie says she slowly edges herself forwards, pushing along crunchy leaves with the toes of her boots as her feet barely lift from the ground. ”You see, my friends are behind you somewhere and I just want to find them.” The size of the creature becomes more intimidating the closer she gets to it but it’s hard not to admire. Ruby red scales all over, even the spiky parts across its spine. The only parts not red are its contrasting eyes, a deep dark black. Now that intimidates her, what kind of evil hides behind those dark eyes?
”Please don’t eat me.” She braces herself as the long necked wyvern tilts his head, its nose slowly reaches out towards her. Georgie closes her eyes, bracing herself for the journey inside of the wyvern’s digestive track. Now it’s going to be tricky for the Capitol to bring her back to life like her dad if she ends up being the creature’s lunch. If only Umber was here, he must know some kind of animal friendship charm. Or maybe she doesn’t need the wizard.
Georgie opens her eyes, air blows and it’s not the wind, it’s from the creature’s nostrils. The storm has noticeably died down around her, just the rain is reluctant at fleeing. A drenched Georgie offers out her hand to the wyvern, she knows animals tend to like a good sniff of something new. Like Tortoise and the strawberries, she feeds him. ”I’m not here to hurt you. Just a friend!” She tells the reptile looking creature that is three times, maybe even five times the size of her. ”I am friends with a reptile like you, he is a little smaller. Well A LOT smaller. I trust him, he trusts me. Do we have the same deal?”Georgie attempts to tame the wyvern with charisma.
