Name: Puffins Gefilte (Ga-fil-ta)
Age: 17 years young
Gender: female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Puffins stands at a height of Five foot four with a boney build in her joints and limbs. Her hair is long, black, and curly as a splatter of ink running down a plain white canvas. She has coco brown skin, distinctive facial features, and glossy lips that have are the color of caramel. Her nails are long, and painted a deep blue color, looking good for what a district girl could afford. Anyone with artificial nails are nearly impossible to find outside the capitol, so the best she can do is put on a likely toxic nail polish.
Puffins will usually wear a light and flowing dress in white, grey, or pastel colors. When it’s colder she’ll wear a leather or denim jacket over. She always wears a pair of light gray sneakers with navy blue soles and light pink laces. All of her clothes are passed down to her by who knows how many generations of women. No matter how old or used the clothes are, she always looks good wearing them.
Personality:
Puffins if a very social young woman, able to maintain herself in large groups of people. Her core friend group at school is made up of almost a dozen other students. She sits with all of them during lunch, like the typical popular girl in school. Every once in a while, she has a garden party in the front lawn of her home, and invites everyone from school she can, as well as anyone who lives nearby. She also sneaks away from home sometimes to the local training center to practice with the spear, in case she ever gets reaped for the hunger games.
Puffins has a very bubbly personality, and knows how to keep any conversation going. She is known to be a cheerleader for her friends, supporting them through any situation. Currently, she’s doing very well in the academy, and probably has one of the highest grades in her class. You can always see her pitching in everywhere she goes in the district, which would make for a good future mayor perhaps. Whenever you see her around, there’s always gonna be a few other in her presence.
Puffins also has a whole lot of love and appreciation for her family. She would help her father Saltin with any housekeeping, if he wasn’t so persistent on doing it all himself. Everyday she’s talking to her Bubbie Mack in the living room, as she’s a very good listener, so it seems. Her pride and joy also lies within her younger siblings, which she would do anything for. Whether it’s helping out with school work, or playing a card game, she’ll do anything she can to make them happy.
History:
For as long as she remembers, Puffins hasbeen a member of the Gefilte family. When she was newly born, she was placed at the family’s doorstep with an anonymous granting custody to her two fathers Saltin and Dingo. The idea of being the second of six children doesn’t really come to mind, as she sees it as living with five friendly faces. There’s a sense of pride, belonging to the Gefilte name. Multiple generations of children have been taken in by the people in this very house, and she’s happy to be one of them.
The idea that she, or one of her siblings could be reaped for the hunger games has never crossed her mind. A Gefilte child has never been reaped, despite how long they’ve been around. She believes that following orders is beneficial to her rewarding life. That’s why she’s so active in the community, it’s a sign of obedience. It’s not as ridiculous as holding a protest and spitting in the face of a an armed peacekeeper.
All Puffin Gefilte has ever known is to follow the way of order. She doesn’t know what it’s like to suffer, because she hasn’t reached that point in her life. It’s what she believes brings prosperity to her and her family. The household has always been able to provide for themselves, despite her father Dingo being the only family member in the workforce, managing a small fishing company. Will this viewpoint on life keep Puffins afloat, or will it lead to a tragic demise built for pen and paper? This is a predicament many youth in Panem may face.
