Name:
Alkin Fletcher[/blockquote]
Age: 17
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 6
Appearance:Alkin's entire appearance is sort of pecuilar. Nothing really goes well with anything else.Personality:
His pale, thin lips, are always set in a grim line, as if he is watching something particularly distasteful. The corners are usually pulled down, even when he smiles, somehow. They are set a few centimeters farther down the face than usual, although this only adds to his unnaturalness.
Alkin's eyes give off a vibe of gentleness. Of calm. They are a hybrid between a dark blue and a very light green, maing some sort of teal color that changes shade depending on the amount of light hitting it. When he is out in public, they are usually drawn to a beady squint, but when you find him in the company of animals, they are open wide, quiet and observant.
Alkin is very tall, easily towering over the average adult. His long legs are almost always clad in dirty jeans (he never remembers to clean them), and his thin abdomen covered in ripped tee-shirts.
Alkin's hair is muddy-brown, streaked with a little dark red (natural, of course). He usually lets it grow long, though not a lot. Usually just to the end of his neck. He rarely combs it, so it's usually straggly and unclean.Alkin is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He knows his way around town, sure, but that's pretty much where the smarts stop. He mainly relies on his sister to do the brainwork, while he sits around waiting for something to come up.History:
Alkin loves animals of any kind, wether it is housepets or rodents, fish or reptiles, he loves every one. He has brought home a total of six pets, two dogs, three kittens, and one goat.
Alkin doesn't really have an opinion on the Capitol and the Hunger Games, because he does not care about them. Sure, he is forced to watch live screenings like everyone else, but he just pretends it's a movie. A long, drawn out, gory, movie.
Sometimes Alkin wishes he could be a bit more like his sister. Strong headed, independent... smart! But he's not. He is very different, in so many ways. But again, he doesn't really care. All he cares about is his dear animals waiting for his care at home.Arkin Fletcher was born five minutes after his fraternal twin sister, Julliana Fletcher. His mother, Yamina Fletcher, passed away during labor, making Bernard Fletcher, a single father.Codeword: muttations
As a small child, Arkin was almost always bossed around by his older sister (or so she had implanted into his small brain). She would tell him when it was time to put up his toys, time to go to bed, and time to take a bath (here is where he outright refused).
His father became more and more distant from the siblings, overcome with depression from the loss of his wife. When Alkin and Julliana were ten years old, he committed suicide.
The Peacekeepers who came to take the siblings to the orphanage told them he had somehow gotten a hold of one of those fancy Capitol laser guns. One shot to the head had done him in just fine. They told them there had been some mess to clean up after the corpse had been hauled out.
That had been way too much information for Alkin.
They stayed in District Six's orphanage, hoping against hope that one day, someone would walk in and take them out of the dreary place. No one came.
Then one day, they did.
A mysterious man, claiming to be a Peacekeeper, signed the papers to take the twins home. They did not object. They just had to get out of the dull building.
When they had arrived at the house, they had realized something was wrong. It was nothing compared to the Peacekeeper's homes. Nothing. He had taken them in, and chained them to the walls of his basement. He brought them a small plate of rough bread, and a teacup full of dirty water. And nothing after that.
The twins had been chained in the basement for two days when the man came back. He unchained Julliana, and took her into a small room on the other side of the room. Not being particularly bright, Alkin had no idea what was going on in there. The only thing he was aware of was that he was hearing Jullie screaming.
When he brought her back, she had looked worn and beaten, and outright terrified. He chained her up again, and had taken out a knife. He was going to kill Alkin.
That was when the Peacekeepers (the real ones) had intervened. The man had tried to fight back, and therefor was killed. Alkin and Julliana had been taken way from the house.
The Peacekeepers traced their family line to their great aunt, Gurry Beranda. They moved into her house, and began to finally relax. The man was gone and they would never have to go to that stupid orphanage again.
Alkin never asked his sister what happened in that room.
