Hi, so everyone was talking about their own personal Hunger Games, so I decided to tell everyone about mine.
My friends and I, only about 8 of us, three boys, and five girls, got together to do our own Hunger Games. The rules were simple:
We'd each get a belt, that had 5 removable flags in them. If you lost all of your flags, you "died". To get someone's flag, you had to engage in some sort of HARMLESS battle, and you may steal one flag at a time. Once you lose a flag, it's gone. No real hurting, and obviously no killing.
We decided to buy and use toy weapons, and though we didn't have alot, we had some supplies:
-A nerf gun
-A fake sword
-A fake knife
-A toy bow
-A small sheath of three arrows
-A backpack full of yarn
-Some band aids
-Some water
-And a small handbag full of nerf darts.
The day before the Games, we all gathered at my house, for training, and interviews. I pretended to be smart, and sneaky, while my friends played up for different angles. One of my friends pretended to be an idiot, but it turned out she wasn't. I got a training score of 11, tying with another of my friends, and I was from District 8. The next day, we got up early and met at the "Arena".
The Arena: We used a meadow near my friend's house. Our Cornucopia was at the bottom of a hill, that lead up into the meadow, with tall grass and many paths. We were surrounded by woods, some with steep drops, and prickly bushes. It was pretty large, and cool. Also, since we did it in the winter, there was a couple inches of snow on the ground, meaning we had to be careful with our footsteps.
The day of the Games: When the day finally came, we all spread out the supplies, and waited a minute. We each had our own cameras to film, which meant the coverage of the event wasn't great, but enough. My alliance and I, both ran to grab supplies as soon as we could go, and managed to get the bag of darts, yarn, and some band-aids, before taking off up the hill. Another alliance had gotten the empty nerf gun, and yet another had gotten the bow, but no arrows. My alliance and I made our way into the meadow, then split up, while she set a make-shift trap with the string, and I kept look-out in the woods.
My first kind of "kill" was in the woods. I thought I might be clever, and hide in a tree (which later turned out to not be the best idea, resulting in me falling). My friend, who was alone, wandered into the clearing. Somehow, he had managed to lose all of his flags, but two. He had the sword, and arrows. I stayed quiet, but accidentally moved, and he turned and saw me. He asked me why I didn't attack while I had the chance. I told him that I never attacked anyone from behind, and then since he had turned around, attacked him. He got one of my flags, and I got one of his, after a brief one-sword fight. However, he ran off, right into my alliance, who got the remaining flag, and the arrows.
This went on, me and my alliance hiding the woods, for a while, until there were four of us left. We had only managed to get one other person, one of her friends, who had lost all of her supplies, and had only one flag. She had tripped over the string, my alliance had strung, which was pretty funny, seeing as it was brown string against white snow. Finally, it was us, and the Careers, depleted to two.
They, using their cell phones, called us to a feast, for the darts, and we'd get the bow. We decided to go, but they had a plan, and trapped us. I escaped, but my alliance didn't.
I managed to get one of the two, escaping with an accident bruise on my cheek, from when she had fallen, and accidentally kicked me. But finally, it came down to me, and my good friend. I had one flag, she had two, the darts, and gun, while I had only arrows. Guess who won?
Despite the fact I lost, I had so much fun, and wish I could do it again, but with more people!!
