Age: 13
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Acadia Rust is taller than average and powerfully built, with broad shoulders and long arms and legs, strong from hours spent clam diving on the reefs off shore. She is slightly unhealthy from lack of food, like all of the other district children.Personality:
Acadia has long flowing red/brown hair and tan skin covered with dark freckles from her days out in the sun. Her brilliant green eyes are not unusual amongst District 4 kids though her older brother's sparked a new trend in contact lenses in the Capitol after he was featured (and killed) in the Hunger Games.
Acadia is a hard worker and is determined to prove herself in any and every way possible, whether it be getting an A in school or catching the most clams. She lives to impress everyone she knows.History:
Acadia also is extremely intelligent and moderately athletic. She is often considered the most intelligent kid of her age in the district. As for her athleticism, she is an excellent swimmer and can hold her breath for up to 3 minutes (a trick kids often learn in District 4), but her athleticism stops when she reaches shore.
Despite her determination to impress, Acadia is not very social. She prefers solitude to company and is very reserved when it comes to trust. Only her parents truly know her.
Acadia's family and a few others are the primary sources of clams for the District 4 Clam Centre who is the provider for all of the Capitol's extravagant clam bakes. Acadia and her two remaining brothers dive for clams all day every day and they're very successful and they are allowed to keep three giant clams each per day in addition to their salary.Codeword:
The reason I say "remaining brothers" is because Acadias oldest brother was killed competing in the Hunger Games when Acadia was just 10 years old. Her brother was just 14. After his death and her family's publicized misery, Acadia gain a thirst for revenge on the Capitol that may never be quenched.
Well, as I said before, Acadia and her brothers bring home a grand total of nine giant clams a day and just enough money between them to buy a good loaf of bread and some milk. Often times when the family gets sick of clams, the clams are traded for lobster, whitefish, or other seafood. Though this sounds like a great deal of food (and it is compared to many other District 4 families), you must remember that it means three meals for a family of five and nobody really gets enough to eat.
