Hey there.
My name's Namia Warren. It's nice to meet you.
I am seventeen years old.
Obviously, I am a girl.
I live in Distrct Ten.
Welcome to my world.
Appearance
If I had to guess my height, I'd say about 5'10". I can't say exactly, because shoes add height. And since I have a variety of shoes, I have a variety of exact heights.
My hair's color depends on who you're asking. Someone who doesn't know me would say black. My parents and teachers say it's really dark brown. I'll stay safe, and say that it's right in between. It's curly, kind of wild, and thick. Near the bottom, ringlets begin to appear. I don't do much to it, because I like it the way it is. Sometimes I'll straighten it, though. If I'm standing straight, it reaches to about the center of my forearm.
My eyes are dark brown. I would say that they are black, but that wouldn't be an accurate statement, because if you look really closely, to can see my pupils. My eyes are sort of thin, and so are my eyelashes. My eyebrows are thin, and close to my eyes. All in all, my eyes aren't a very noticable feature on my face.
My nose is rectangular, and rather flat as it works it's way down my face. It's not ugly or anything. Or at least, in my opinion it's not. It begins to widen at the bottom, so it's not too uniform.
My lips are a pale pink color, with the bottom one just a tiny bit plumper than it should be. I put lip gloss on them, to make them shimmer slightly, but other than that, they stay natural.
My face is on the longer side, with a nice prominant jaw. My cheekbones don't stand out that much, and against my dark hair, I appear pale.
My shoulders are on the small side, and my arms are on the thinner side, although not that bad. My hands are smaller, with long fingers. My nails are pretty long. I never understood how a person could bite their nails. It just doesn't make sense to me.
My legs are also thin, and my feet are almost the perfect size for them.
My skin is pale. I can't tan. I can try, but then I get burnt, and then pale again. That's okay, though. Tans never really appealed to me anyways. Besides, if you look at me in the right light, I have a darker shade of skin. Kind of.

Personality
In a district full of braniacs, it's no surprise that I'm smart. But no, I'm not just number smart. I'm also creative. I like to go against the flow... follow my own rules. In such a uniform district, that doesn't go by very well. It's all numbers, numbers, numbers for them. Well, I have numbers, too! But to them, there's only one answer to a question. Well, that's okay, in math, but it's not okay when it spreads into your life! Are these people crazy?! I mean, why be all the same when you have the oppurtunity to stand out?! If you go under one code, you'll be like a bunch of robots!
... Sorry. I didn't mean to shout. Let's move on, and forget my outburst.
Well, as I said, I'm creative. I also have an eye for detail. I love colors. Red, blue, green, orange, yellow... all different colors. Painting is something that I do very rarely. Too expensive. But that doesn't mean I don't love it.
I can also think fast. I mean, really fast. It kind of makes up for the fact that I'm not athletic at all. I'm a clumsy person. Clumsy people can't play sports.
I like to give people a chance. You can't judge people by their appearances. I'll admit, it's really difficult to look past the outside. I'm ashamed when I just can't. However, if what's on the inside isn't something good... well, I can hold a grudge.
I like to break rules. I know that sounds bad, but it kind of goes hand in hand with creativity. Causing trouble is kind of my thing. I'll accept the consequences of my actions... most of the time.
I'm social, but that doesn't mean I have a lot of friends. Actually, I don't have any. People are scared of my rule breaking. Not to mention, no one really likes how much I stand out.
Oh, there's one kind of important thing I left out.
I have my own imaginary world that I live in.
Not all the time, of course, but I visit it often. It's like the real world, except enhanced. Beautiful. Perfect.
That's not too wierd, is it?

History
I was born on a regular summer day, into a regular life. My parents were still trying to get by. District Ten isn't the richest district. The problem was, intelligence wasn't going to help them in this district.
So, as a child, I was hungry a lot. It wasn't like I was starving or anything. I got enough to survive. But enough to survive isn't always filling.
When I was still a young girl, my mother was in a car crash. She lived, and wasn't injured. The other person was though. She immediately began to treat his wounds. The nearest hospital wasn't close. She showed a great ability in First Aid. When he got to the hospital, they said she saved his life.
Well, that inspired my mom. She went back to college, and became a doctor. And not just any doctor. A surgeon. It was definately worth the enormous amount of hunger my father and I experienced while we payed for her to go back to school.
My father got a better job, and suddenly, at the age of ten, my family became rich. Like, really rich. We got a bigger house. I was never hungry again. I had nicer clothes. My parents had another baby: My little sister, Emma. My parents had parties with their new friends, and I was invited to meet them. It was an amazing life. Perfect, almost. So, you're probably wondering why I have my own secret world.
I don't have any friends, as I mentioned before. I'm really lonely, and not popular at all. I'm wierd. No one has any interest in me. I can't help that I want to stand out. I don't even know who I got it from. But standing out is something that is favored in District Ten, as I also mentioned before.
On top of that, my little sister grew up to be extremely smart. Number smart. My parents loved both of us equally, but it was obvious who was the better daughter. The one who won all the number awards. All I got was art awards.
Now, I'm seventeen, and it's still like that. My sister winning all the "important" awards. Yeah, we still live in a big house, we're still rich, and I'm still invited to all the parties. I don't see my parents much during the day, but we eat dinner together, and do family things, and it's nice.
But it's hard living with little Ms. Perfect. Don't take this the wrong way. Emma's great... most of the time. The problem is in me. She, of course, has her flaws, but I've aways been kind of jealous of her.
After all, she's number smart, and I'm just... smart.
