Jay Auburn (District 12)

Jay is a smaller girl, about 5'1" with a slight build. She doesn't look very strong but is quite fast and nimble. Because of her small size she's good a climbing trees and running. She looks very delicate and fragile, like a porcelain doll.

Her hair is about shoulder length and a dark brown that makes her pale skin look even paler. She has no freckles, no marks on her almost translucent skin. Her hair is wavy and she often has it braided back to stay out of her face.

Her eyes are a dark intense brown, that kind that almost look black and seem to look right through you and know all your secrets. They also show wisdom beyond the years of a 14 year old girl.

Jay is a sharp girl who always has a witty remark. She's quite stubborn and it's almost impossible to discourage her about anything, so once she's made her mind up forget convincing her otherwise. She's quite resourceful and is good at outsmarting people.

She doesn't act as a girl her age normally would, and shows a deep maturity and understanding that often doesn't make an appearance until much later in life. It takes a lot to faze Jay as she's a very level headed and calm person by nature.

She's not a violent person and prefers to outsmart people and fight with words. As said before she's a calm person and doesn't have a temper, but there are a few things that she can't stand, and that's the capital and the thought of the hunger games. She's obviously afraid of becoming a tribute, but doesn't show it, or many other emotions. She can seem odd as she is usually calm and barely let's any emotions show, but that's just her way of protecting herself.

Because of her closed off nature Jay doesn't have many friends, she has only a few close one's in whom she confides in and trusts deeply. This is a place of honour and not many people will ever gain that much trust from her.

Jay is the oldest child of Kari and Trae Auburn. Her family isn't rich, as her father is only a mine worker, and her mother works cleaning some of the richer people's houses. She has a younger sister, only 10, named Rayne who she looks out for and protects.

Jay's family live in a small house, barely getting by and often going to sleep with empty stomachs. She is trying to convince them to let her sign up for teserae but they refuse. She often helps her mother work or looks for odd jobs around town, hoping to help her family in any way.

Jay hates having to see Rayne in their conditions hey live in, the small shack, the little food and hopes that one day the capital will pay for everything they've done. She wants to fight the capital, but doesn't know how.
