Age: 16
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 6
Appearance:
Theo is much taller than his parents and stands just at 6' 2". He is lean but muscled. He lets his black hair grow a little past his ear. He wears t-shirts and cargo shorts with flip flops all the time--it gives him a casual look. Sometimes, in the winter, he wears a hoodie and khakis with leather shoes. When he wants to look more sophisticated, he wears sweater vests with a tie. It's his trademark look, but he doesn't wear his sweater vests often because the perfect sweater vest is hard to come by.
His face is tanned from his time outside. His eyes are a dark brown--so dark it's hard to find the pupil unless one looks with the sun's rays shining into them at an angle. His black-framed glasses rest on high cheekbones and his lips are thin but quite pink-red. He has never gotten a cavity, but his teeth aren't exactly straight. He is handsome enough--girls don't go for him for his face most of the time, but for his skills and muscles.
Theo has long slender fingers that serve him well in multiple ways. His limbs are long, and his shoulders are broad. He is lean as a board, but his time spent in training has served him well, earning him taut muscles.
Personality:
Theo is diligent. He is not the type to give up easily. He learns things pretty quickly, but if at first he fails, he definitely tries again and again until he gets things right. That's why he now break dances so well. Theo is very patient, but if anyone has the talent enough to manage to get on his bad side, Theo holds onto grudges. He is territorial about his family and friends, and he values personal loyalty; he'd risk everything for someone he cares about.
Usually, Theo spends time alone--in the meadows or with his violin or sketching. He doesn't chase girls, but sometimes they come to him. He doesn't quite think of girls as more than just friends yet, but that's subject to change. Girls like him for his perseverance, as well as his strong and silent presence. Theo doesn't talk much, but when he does talk, people tend to listen. He doesn't have the charming or persuasive tactics of his sister, Teriessa, though, but his simple words say enough.
History:
Theo's family includes his demanding yet supportive father, encouraging mother, and twin younger sisters, both being extremely talented in opposite ways.
One of his sisters, Thaliana, is a musical prodigy and a poet. She plays several instruments, including the flute, the guitar, and the cello. She also has a sweet voice and has been able to carry a tune since the crib. She can pull songs out of thin air and sing them just so. Thaliana's poems are widespread--some of them are published in the Capitol under a pseudonym--and her writing is often used as the example teachers show their students and say "this is what I want you to do". She's quite meek and can get too modest at times.
Theo's other sister, Teriessa, is a full-out athlete and scientist. She also participates in debates and loves it. Sometimes, she talks too much in class and can get too serious about debates. Teriessa often visits the training center, but she prefers making up her own games and playing them with friends compared to practicing with weapons. Her science skills have carried her far, as well. She understands concepts quickly and has a very sharp memory. Sometimes, her tongue is too sharp, and she bluntly speaks the truth, whether or not it's something that's needed; this gets her into trouble sometimes, but it also serves as a big help at other times. Of the siblings, Teriessa is the most suited for life in this district.
Theo is quite talented as well. He's often the teacher's strongest student in math. Sometimes, he wishes he lived in District Ten instead, so he could put his skills to use, but the chances of him moving are too slim to even consider it as a possibility. He tolerates school because he wants to get a higher job later on in the future, but he doesn't like math and science as much as he likes to break dance, sketch, or play his violin, one of the instruments his musical-prodigy sister hasn't attempted to play yet.
In his spare time--he can always manage to make some time for things he cares about--he goes to this field that, as far as he knows, no one else knows about. There, he practices dancing. He started when he was fourteen by visiting the small training center that's available in the District; there, he built up his arm muscles. He didn't work with the weapons as much. Then, when he had adequate muscle, he made a second home of the fields, where he practiced freezes and headstands and push ups, cushioned by the soft grass when he fell, which was plenty enough of times.
Two years later, Theo's pretty much a self-taught expert. He can hold Nikes and twist and flip and spin all over. Sometimes, visitors drop in accidentally on his practice sessions, but he's always too focused to notice.
His artistic abilities are just as amazing. Theo likes to draw and was blessed with the talent. He's not likely to give up easily, and he doesn't tolerate "artist's block". He can sketch realistically and draw cartoons. Theo doesn't prefer to work with paints as much, though. He thinks the world is already filled with color; why add more to it? He uses charcoal so the viewer can just take in the scene. The gray shading of his art draws attention because it's so colorless.
Theo has played the violin since he was six. His long fingers have always been that way, flexible and strong. Playing the violin only strengthened them. His fingers are so strong that they're perfect for giving massages, which is what he does sometimes for his mother. Theo doesn't really perform or play in an orchestra, though. He's quite a loner, but he's still very protective of those dear to him.
