Appearance:
Aspen considers herself average-looking. She is the kind of girl who doesn't really stand apart from the crowd, except for maybe her height. Her mother and father were both short, which is probably the reason why her height ended up being just under 5 feet (4'11" and a few centimeters.)Personality:
Her straight dark hair falls to the small of her back, and her choppy bangs usually fall into her eyes. Unfortunately, this isn't exactly the best haircut to have whilst hunting, so she's often seen with her hair up and out of her face. Her almond-shaped eyes are muddy brown, flecked with small specks of green.
She has rather soft facial features which, combined with her short height, give her an almost child-like appearance. Aspen is often confused with a 12 year-old, which bothers her to no end. Another odd thing about her are her ears, which are pointier than they should be. She has a naturally thin figure, although years of hunting have caused her to build up muscle.
She's constantly thinking, whether it's about the problems in her life, all the good things that are happening, or even just something simple, like how pretty the sky looks that day.History:
She's not exactly antisocial, but she'd much rather spend her time lost in her thoughts than be in another person's company. Years of hunting alone have caused her to become somewhat of a loner. However, she is generally friendly to the people she meets. If she sees someone in need, she will usually stop to help; otherwise, the guilt of leaving a helpless person would nag at her later.
A flaw of hers is that her moods change quite easily. Although she does like to have a good time and joke around, she can sometimes take teasing a little too seriously. And when she gets mad, everyone usually knows to stay away, as any other little thing might cause her to really lose it. It might take her awhile to calm down after that, but she's generally over it by the next day.
Aspen has problems getting close to people, mostly because she fears she's going to lose them or they're just simply going to leave. However, she is extremely loyal to those few people she's gotten close to.
Even though she appreciated the animals living in the forests, Aspen's favorite part of the day was hunting. It was something that she loved, especially because she would often go with her father.Codeword: muttations
For years, that was the same routine; she would come home and her father would take her out hunting, always teaching her something new. When she was around 10 years old, that routine changed.
Her dad became sick, and Aspen continued to hunt. She would occasionally take her older brother with her, though most of the time she preferred to go alone. Her mother was still at home taking care of her father. A few months later, he passed away.
This was a bit of a wake-up call for her. Being that young age, she had always assumed that things would stay the same; she never realized that her dad would eventually one day be gone.
She tried her best to get over it and move on, but it was hard. From that point on, she always hunted alone, not even bothering to take her brother with her.
A year later, when she was 11, her brother got picked for a reaping. Of course, this broke her heart, but what else could she do? So everyday, she watched the games, up until the point where he got violently killed. After that, she could hardly pay attention to the rest.
Things were different at home. Her mother tried to act the same as she always did, but there was a perpetual sense of grief in the house. Instead of dealing with her feelings, Aspen ignored them and turned to her hunting.

I wasn't sure if it was okay that her brother got picked for a reaping, so.. if there's a problem with that, just tell me and I'll edit it out.
