You thought there could be love in this world
It was always believed by all
That everyone in this world had a purpose, a meaning
A reason to believe
And all this girl knew was how to juggle expectations
With what she wanted
Because in District Two, you can only make it one way
Not fooling around
But the joys in life can hardly ever be taken away
Just keep trying
Wish as she might to break free from this constant jail
She never could
And that was how she found the friends of her life
By finding a way out
Sarah Zoey Immil /|\ 18 /|\ Female /|\ District Two
How foolish you were, little child
[x] [x] [x] [x]
A long thin face. How stupid! How ridiculous! Yet that was all
they ever seemed to notice. It has nothing to do with the fact
that she doesn’t have other features that they can examine;
their eyes just linger and judge the shape of her head first. She
has no care of the fact that the lower part of her head seems
to slant to the bluntness of her chin; in fact, she’s learn to grow
accustomed to it. But it’s all anyone wants to talk about so
that’s all she ever hears.
Never mind the fact that her blue eyes are naturally small but
made to look bigger through the uses of make-up. The colour
that runs in the family is not something she has pride in,
though many people tell her she should. It’s just another part
of her to worry about. There are bags and lines around her
eyes, a clear indicator that she is often stressed out and tired.
However, she always makes sure to cover them up when she
has to go out, not wanting the world to know the state of fatigue
she is in.
With these bright eyes comes a low vision or at least a blurry
one. It’s not that bad, honestly, and she could get her eyes
corrected if she wants to; the only issue with it is she often has
to bring the words to her in order to read. Her parents keep
telling her that she needs to have her eyes corrected, and she
constantly waves them off saying that she will before she gains
a job. But in her life, she has more important things to worry
about.
Her dark hair is frequently cut past her shoulders, leaving
enough room just in case it gets cut a little too high the next
time. She has no pride in her hair either. To her, they’re just
strands of brown meant to be a sign that she is female. In fact,
she often begged her parents as a young child to have it cut
short, because her brothers would always pull on her hair during
the times of torment. After they left though, she stopped
pestering her parents about it and let it grow naturally. She also
found that her hair would be great for some sign of control as
she went through stages of bangs or no bangs.
The skin is frequently pale, but summertime is when it becomes
darker. The one thing that she is never rid of is the freckles that
are always spotted along her face. With the precise use of
make-up, she can lower the intensity of the freckles, but they
still manage to find a way to peek through the elaborate use
of concealer. When she’s too lazy to try to hide them, they can
easily be seen, giving her an almost childlike look. Other marks
on her skins are ones from years past but had not been healed
properly when she would scratch herself in times of stress and
fear. She has done a better job as of late, but the lines from her
nails are still there, meant to remind her of what is expected
from her.
She stands tall at an average 5’5”, neglecting the fact that most
of her peers tend to be much taller than her. Her weight has
leveled off at 115 lbs, with no indicator of changing lest she
change her lifestyle. In her family, she is considered a runt,
because her brothers have been building up on muscles since
they were younger. Of course, as they no longer can be
tributes, they aimed for a Peacekeeper job which still required
them to remain fit. Her small frame was often the reason why
her brothers could easily pick on her and get away with it.
Hold on to what you already have
The first thing most people say about Sarah is that she’s “too
focused” and needs to relax a little. It is true that she has a
tendency to be cautious on any matter, causing her to disprove
of some of her friends’ irresponsible behaviour. However, at the
end of the day, she wishes that she could be like them, to be
allowed the room to stay unfocused and do whatever the hell she wants.
The origins of her “focused” side stems from the very beginning
when her parents were quite hard-pressed about her succeeding
in life. For her, there were two options: Peacekeeper or mining.
There was also a choice to begin training as soon as possible,
but as her parents believed that her brothers had already
covered that department, they wanted her to become a
Peacekeeper. In school, she started with a duo study of both
mining and peacekeeping, but her parents later her pulled her
out of the duo courses so that she could focus on becoming a
Peacekeeper.
Sarah made sure that she knew her studies, wanting to prove
that she could be better than her brothers in at least one
department. However, she was sometimes frustrated by the
material that was forced into her head. As a result, she has
frequent breakdowns, increasing in intensity as the days go by.
They first started when she turned thirteen. Combined with
the fear that she would be unprepared for the Games, she
would often find herself screaming at times and leaving scratches
on her arms and face. After a while, she did a better job covering
it up and was able to limit where she broke the skin. However,
she was often reduced to tears instead, staying shut up in her
room until she could recover.
As a result of the rigorous study that she had to, she feels like
it is necessary to drift towards people who were opposite of her.
To her, it made more sense to find those who were nothing like
her in order to open up her boundaries. However, she
absolutely refused to participate in any of their activities…until
she turned 15. After that, she began to join in to get rid of the
day’s stress. To her, it’s just a way to be out of control for one
moment so she’s willing to take it. In fact, she thinks it is fun to
be with them, that they’re the best people that she could be
around. There might be some times when she doesn’t like
what they’re doing or thinks they’re going too far with their
actions, but there are times too that she joins in so she could
have a good time with them.
While she keeps her nose in books frequently and strives to be
intelligent, she likes to use her voice as well, becoming quite
obstinate about matters that she has a problem with. Her voice
becomes loud and she says what needs to be said, often times
met with disapproving glances. The only she cannot raise her
voice about is her opinion on everything that is placed on her.
The moment she tries to say that she thinks it’s all too much,
she stops mid sentence and backs away, causing her to lead to
other measures to console herself.
Her rocky relationship with her brothers started when she was
younger and they would ignore her frequently, snickering as
they looked at the little toddler who looked different than they
did. She didn’t understand why, though, so she felt that they
were neglecting her. As she grew up, she often found herself at
the other end of her brothers’ torments. They would tease her,
pick on her, trying almost every verbal attack possible which
caused her to feel the need to retaliate back but she couldn’t, so
she was left to lashing out at them if opportunity seemed fit.
Because I think you should know
All Jeffrey and Sophie Immil wanted was a nice, loving family
with children who were successful in life. The similarities in
their views ended at that point, with Jeffrey wanting his
children to train for the Games 24/7 and Sophie wishing that
her children could be better with their studies. They still loved
each other so they hoped that there could be some happy
medium, that they could be both studious and tough.
Unfortunately, that balance could never be found because it
simply did not exist…at least not in the environment of District 2.
Born the youngest child of three, Sarah was frequently expected
to surpass her siblings. Her brothers were older than her by
seven and nine years so she was rather distant with them
while growing up. They also had managed to accomplish a
great number of things, leaving Sarah struggling and figuring
out how in the world she was supposed to live up to her and
her parents’ expectations. As a toddler, she was given a little
more freedom, but she was always aware that her parents’ eyes
were on her, so she did whatever she could to please them.
When she started going to school, her parents made their
intentions clear that she was going to do well in school no
matter what. As a young child, she soaked up every word
that left her parents’ mouth and later believed it herself that
she could be successful if she studied hard. Her parents
were too keen on having her studying anything about mining
but figured that she might as well learn something so
they allowed her to learn a bit about the techniques of mining
before they pulled her out to go focus on becoming a
Peacekeeper. It wasn’t really her own drive, but she was so
accustomed to listening to the nagging and following it, it
became her own will as well.
One year, her brothers decided that they didn’t like the idea
that their baby sister was going to be rising above them. As
a result, they ganged up on her and beat her up as they
would with a sack of flour. Her parents decided that the boys
were just being boys so they waved it off like it was some
training practice for the two of them. Her brothers never
bothered to attack her again, but Sarah made it a point to
avoid them as much as possible.
Her breakdowns started happening soon after that event, but
since no one believed that the event caused any repercussions,
they were puzzled as to why she was reacting that way.
Scars started to randomly appear on her cheeks, forehead,
and forearms. In the beginning, she refused to accept that
there might be something wrong, convincing herself that it was
just a simple stage and she would get out of it soon. She made
up excuses and later decided that simple excuses weren’t going
to work so she became more discreet about everything, bottling
it up more as she tried to hide away. No one suspected the
closed door, nor did they really notice it. They just all assumed
it would be a phase or that she needed some alone time.
When the focus of her studies began to intensify, Sarah found
herself hanging out with people who were like her in some way
and then contrasted her immensely. She wasn’t too keen to fit
in with their ways, but after a few times of experimenting, she
found herself finding it much more relaxing than the life she
was living. Of course, it was not always about being under
the influence; there were times when just hanging out were
enough for her. However, their lifestyle was far from normal,
something Sarah did not mind and eventually became accustomed
to.

Originally supposed to be modeled after Jal, but I kind of threw
in other aspects as well so she's like...I'm not sure anymore.
Jal's focused personality, someone's breaking down frequently,
and Naomi's outspoken voice?
