Anneliese Vainstem, the Capitol

Anneliese is tall and slender, courtesy of the Capitol's surgery for perfection. She looks like a young supermodel, with big eyes the color of the night sky and hair that changes color with her mood. Her favorite hair color is definitely dark blue-black, like her eyes. Once upon a time, she was born a blond. Now, the Capitol has changed everything about her except the "windows to her soul", or her eyes.

Anneliese hasn't allowed any surgeon to change her muscle mass. All she has--which is quite a bit, I might add--is the product of her own hard work.

Anneliese spends most of her free time out running to keep in shape and to relieve her stress. Though the Capitol can change her hair and change her clothes, they can't change her heart or who she is inside.

She spends another part of her free time journaling. The feel of a pen in her hand is very comforting and acts as a lifeline sometimes.

Anneliese wants a horse instead of a private jet; adventure instead of luxury. She likes romance novels, but she adores mystery novels. She likes to drink water, but who drinks the water when the wind tastes so much sweeter? But most of all, Anneliese likes to run and write.

Thus, she finds herself alone much of the time. She doesn't mind being alone, but it would be nice to have a friend once in a while. A real friend, mind you.

Anneliese is a descendant of one of the leaders that helped form Panem. Her maternal grandfather was a strict supporter of the Panem government, but his father wasn't as ready to become a pawn in a dictatorship. Anneliese is encouraged to pursue her dreams, but her grandfather sometimes doesn't approve.

Anneliese lives with her parents and a younger sister, Candice. Her mother works at a hairstyling place and thus 'has enough taste' to take Anneliese and her sister the hair salon every month to get her hair dyed.

The name is pronounced "ann-lee-ESS".
