Kaiss's hair is blond, and his eyes are dark: an unusual combination, but not unheard of. The hair is usually swept back over the forehead. Physically, he is weak, and short. Kaiss often shows nervous signs, such as licking of the lips, twitchyness, and bouncing on the balls of his feet. He is always seen with a small backpack. In it, he keeps things needed for his proffesion as a unofficial doctor. Thread, needles, bandages (large and small), forceps, shots, a small defibillator, a tracheotomy kit, a small IV tube and bottle, a few pills, and one or two tubs of lotions emergencies such as burn and bullet victims. One can sometimes find some rough materials in the side pockets, such as sticks and cloth for splints, and a blanket for trasporting people.

As a child, Kaiss had always wanted to become a doctor. His parents greatly admired this, and fortunatly had enough money to send him to special medical camps, located in District Two, where he learned terms and how to use many tools. In a shoot-out between two old time gangs, his parents were shot as they attempted to run to safety. Kaiss was 14 at the time. He lived for about a year in an orpanage, before joining The Fringe, a gang that had fallen. While working as a medic, he secretly hopes to find a get revenge on those who shot his parents.
