Faileen Meritan

Faileen has waist legnth red hair. Her hair is straight, thick and brighter than a usual redheads. She is small and petite and in modern day America could pass as anerexic. Her eyes are emerald green and often show no emotion. Like most redheaded girls, her heart shaped face is very pale.

Faileen is an extremely quiet. She does what shes supposed to without saying much of anything. She is kind though in her own way, helping those who need it. She can also be very cruel though, walking past someone without even glancing, injured or dying, just because she does not like that person or what they have done in the past.

Faileen has a twin sister and an older brother who now lives with his wife two houses down from Faileen. Twin sister, Keeley, is a popular child who everyone knows and likes, the opposite of her quiet sister. Their mother works in a factory that produces silk for the capitol and hopes that her daughters will join her or even take her place one day. Their father runs the local bakery with his son's help. They sell whatever they can to the other residents of District 1 and offer their finest pasterys, sweeties and breads to the Capitol.

When growing up the Meritan's were not poor but not rich. They had money and saved it, using it only when needed so that all their children could avoid signing up for Tesserae.
