Williams, Matthew-D. 1

From behind, you'd normally expect the boy to be Alfred; the number one outgoing jock in District One. However, as this teen turns around, he seems to be different from this so-called "Alfred," in more ways than one. From his facial features to his wardrobe, Matthew proves to be a whole distinct individual.

Matthew's eyes are strikingly different from his look-alike, Alfred. Unlike the sky blue color, Matthew was gifted to have violet shaded eyes. His wavy hair is also kept at a long length, right above his chin, unlike the short hair style of Alfred. His hair is naturally highlighted as two tones of color, from dark blond to pale blond. The seventeen year old is normally spotted sporting on his favorite faded red hoodie and a pair of jeans. But the diversity ends there, since mostly everything else stay the same.

For instance, his height is relatively similar, give or take an inch or two. He hits the charts with being five foot eight inches. Not only that but, the teen also managed to achieve the same build as his "twin," though it would never seem like so, under those layers of clothes he wears. Ironically, Matthew also wears thinly framed glasses to outline the peculiar eyes of his.

Overall, Matthew tries his utmost best to be distinguished from this "Alfred."

Matthew is rubbed off as a reserved, sensitive, and an easily overlooked person.

He tends to be reserved with everybody, even with his own family members. Most of the time, he decides to keep all of his opinions to himself, whether it's both good or bad. Matthew is somewhat insecure with letting others know how he feels, knowing that he is completely content with the present circumstances. He avoids the ideal to become like those harsh, ruthless residents of District One by becoming laconic, himself.

He can also come across as being a wimp, when in truth, he's just a sensitive person at heart. The seventeen year old never liked violence that had always been around Panem, coming from the Games as well as the punishments each districts participate in. Matthew does know that to survive, he would need to be virile and headstrong, just like every other teenager that are in danger of being a Tribute. Yet, being the delicate minded person he is, Matthew never agreed to train or any of the like. He hates to fight and in the end, this does make him quite weak, both mentally and physically.

The last trademark of Matthew would be how easily overlooked he is. Nobody hardly seems to notice -nevertheless, even remember- the boy in his whole life. Since he doesn't do much to be recogonized, Matthew is often ignored or viewed as somebody way too insignificant to befriend. And with that, he is fine of being 'invisible' to everybody, even though at times, it does cause him problems.

Even with his seemingly satisfaction of being just Matthew Williams, he does wish to become somebody admirable as the rumored 'Alfred Jones' of his school...

Matthew's history doesn't differentiante from many others of his kind.

He was born to an unknown family that never wanted him. And being the 'mistake' that he was, eventually Matthew was dumped to the near-by adoption center. Even at the young age, he never blamed his biological parents or himself for being in such an abandoned position. Since he was always "the glass of water is half full" kind-of-person, Matthew took everything in his time and pace. He grew up to become a fine boy, well-mannered and disciplined, yet never adopted once.

It was just as he turned the age of fourteen when Matthew finally was adopted into the custody of a lonely parent. That was the turning point for his whole life, it was the beacon of a new found knowledge in his life. This opportunity gave him a better outlook of life and a new hope in providence. Since then, he had never once doubted his tight-knit family, of that included only himself and his 'papa.'

However, when he was enrolled into the public high school, his constitutions shattered apart. The bullies, the cliques, the status quo all puzzled him and slowly by slowly, he rendered himself useless. The beatings he had recieved were all from misunderstandings too, which even confused the teen even more. Only to find out, recently, he was only getting the battery because of the uncanny similarity of Alfred and Matthew. The only question that now occupied his mind was, "Who was this 'Alfred?' And what did this 'Alfred' have in common as him?"
