Name: Nora Haversham
Age: 17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 3
Appearance: Nora has dark brown/auburn hair (highlights). Her skin is very pale. She is medium build and a little short for her age. There is a small scar on the bridge of her nose from a childhood accident. Her right pinky finger juts out from the same childhood accident.
She can typically be seen in baggy t-shirts and jackets to help cover her nose and mouth from the fumes in District 3. She does not normally stray from the general color combination of jet black and olive green, save for her shoes which are brown boots. She also has a red bandana, which she typically uses to hold her hair back or, in some cases, protect from fumes as well.
Personality: Nora is very kind and a quick thinker. She will try and make people as happy as possible and if she can't do that right away, she will do her best to find out a solution to make them happy. She has been likened to a Golden Retriever, what with her aforementioned kindness. She enjoys physical activity and can often be seen walking her Golden Retriever, Rowdy. Most of the time she will be running alongside Rowdy.
She is one to never give up. She will still be seen running, handkerchief over her mouth, when the fumes are at their worst. Having her body in top physical condition is a priority, set upon her by herself and her superiors at the factory. She will not let herself down, and more importantly, she will not let her friends and family down.
Though she may seem kind and caring, she does have a sliver of selfishness. If chosen for the Games, she would have fame and glory at her feet. She would be idolized. This feeling gives her a sort of internal conflict. Are there really no other ways to be universally loved than killing in the Games?
She values her job and strives to do her best, hoping for a promotion. She hopes that one day it will come, but her mind goes back to the Games. Could her name being chosen in the Reaping help her win her coworkers and superiors over? She lies awake at night, thinking of the internal battles she faces. The insomnia does nothing to further her career, and a three-hour sleep cannot make a victor. Or can it?
History: Nora's history is not a particularly long or tragic one. She grew up like most families in the third district, played with the children and got a job at a factory when she became of age. She is currently employed at an airplane factory, making aircraft for the Capitol. She works with her childhood best friend, Ryan Samuels.
She has always wanted to be part of the Hunger Games, though she knows the danger it represents. She longs to be a hero, whether it's as a martyr or as a victor. As part of this longing, she practices long and hard. She uses discarded airplane parts, parts deemed unworthy or weak, as weapons. She fashions them into shivs and knives and shrapnel, whatever suits her mood.
One of her favorite things to do is climbing, and that was how she met Ryan. She had climbed into one of the stacks of her factory on her first day, after dropping a tool. When she became stuck, he came to her rescue and they became fast friends.
She lives with both of her parents and Rowdy, as well as feeding a neighborhood cat named Hoshi.
