Gwendolyn Reid, District Four

Gwendolyn has soft carmel hair that lays, usually without volume, in large curls just past her shoulderblade. She has lake blue eyes that have specks of brownish-green nearer the iris. These pretty eyes are topped with thin eyelashes and nicely manicured eyebrows. She has a long face with a long nose to match, it doesn't look out of place though, she's got plump lips to match. Her jutting cheekbones are set high giving her a grungy, but still pleasant look.

She hasn't got any freckles at all which upsets her, she thinks they look very cute on everyone that has them. She has normal sized legs and a long torso, making her look skinnier than she is. She has the build of a runner because she is one. She works hard on maintaining what she's got because she loves running. Her thighs are tones but not massive and her calves are abnormally large. She doesn't come off as threatening or intimidating at all until she flexes. She has decently sized arm muscles but they aren't very prominant as she doesn't work them as hard as her legs. Gwen's stomach is nearly flat, she has some visible abdominal muscles near the top of her stomach, though toward the bottom there is the small bump of fat that is a result from too much starch in her diet. Gwen lets herself eat whatever she wants, it works out rather well since she works out along with it but she really doesn't care much about wieght.

She dresses in suitable things, she likes taking care of her clothes so they last a long time, she always feels guilty having her mother and father buy her new things because she always gets the sense that they don't want to. Of course sometimes it is necessary but Gwen tries keeping everything she owns in pristine condition.

Gwen has one scar, it is on her leg on the inside of her thigh that she got when she was twelve. She had been running from the small living room to the kitchen when she slipped and fell, arms flailing. Her flailing had brought down a knife set on a cutting board that also clattered to the floor, the knife landed before she did though. It slid under her and when Gwen landed she felt the stabbing pain, literally. She had skidded a couple inches across the linoleum causing the knife to wedge itself in her leg at an odd angle. She had to be taken to the hospital and everything. it was a very traumatic experience for her.

Gwendolyn is a very helpful girl, she is always there for those who need her and even those who push her away. She likes to aid people in any way possible. She is very pleasant to be around, she's sensitive to others feelings which makes it easy for other to talk to her. She knows what subjects to avoid and which to focus on, when someone needs to talk about something or when she knows they really dont want to. She is a very perceptive girl and she uses that a lot to try to please everyone.

Some might say that Gwen is a perfectionist, not only does everthing she does have to live up to other people's standards, it has to live up to hers. Gwen is sometimes very hard on herself and she hates failing so she puts her best effort into anything she does no matter is it is as trivial as braiding her sister's hair just the way she want sit or helping to go fishing when the store is running low.

This makes her a very driven and determined young lady. She doesn't let herself rest until everything is right, or at least when she knows she's done her best. Most of the time her best is more thaan enough but if one were to tell her that she's politely refuse it. She's very humble and doesn't like getting flattered for doing what she does though she does get a bit stern if she doesn't get so much as a thank you for helping out.

She is very self conscious which also leads back to the drive, determination, and perfection aspects of her. Being as self conscious as she is, she doesn't really like making a big deal out of anything does even if it is a big deal. She doesn't want attention drawn to her or most things she does becaus she doesnt want any criticism.

Gwendolyn is also very passionate. She's passionate about a lot of things like all her hobbies. She's passionate about running and fishing and swiming and cooking. Gwen loves to cook and she's rather good at it too. But she has passion for all those things and so it is those things that she puts herself into. Not only is she passionate about hobbies, she's passionate about people and life. Gwen loves life and nature and people. She likes having friends and interactions and family. She's a very genuinely pleasant person to be around with friendlydisposition not many can refuse.

However when Gwen is upset(which takes a lot of effort to get her that way) she tends to stay upset until the one who make it so fixes it. She reaally appreciates manners and courtesy. So thank you's nd I'm sorry's go a long way in her book.

Anya Despindo and Rhys Reid were childhood friends. Of course everyone knew they would grow up to be married no matter how oblivious they were to it in their younger years and how discerning they were of it later in their life. The grew close, closer than ever in their reaping years, the fear of loosing ona another to the Games was a very stirring feelings shared by the two but it only seemed to make them all the closer.

They were fishing partners, Rhys knowing the ropes far better than Anya and having to teach her if she'd ever need it. The families were close as well, their parents being very good friends with each other. Naturally there wasn't much time one would spend without the other. They grew together quickly after they were nineteen, knowing they were safe from the Games and were allowed now to make a life which they wouldn't have fear of sacrificing.

They married and had four children. Gwendolyn, the first. A few years after her they had Josiah, then Micah and then Maralyn. Gwendolyn's childhood was a good one. the family was never going hungry as they sold the most variety of fish to the Capitol and also sold baked goods such as rolls and bread and the occasional pie to the people of District Four as they were all sick of eating fish most of the time.

Gwen has made many friends in school with her welcoming personality and grew up with a lot of family love. The family is relly close, even among the siblings. Not many fights break out between Gwen, Josiah, Mich, and Maralyn. Micah is the more insidious child, Joshiah responsible and serious. Then Maralyn who is still a toddler who seems to be a very pleasant little girl.

Gwen is very pleased that not she or her siblings(Josiah, 14, Micah, 11, Maralyn, 4) have been chosen as a tribute for the Games. her time is almost up and she's hoping she can stick it out without going. If it was just survival she would consider volunteering, but since it requires killing she never would. Sometimes theres a volunteer in District Four, its not very uncommon. Some parents train their kids up for them and Gwen thinks its despicable especially if the child doesn't want to.
