Age: 14
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 1
Appearance:
Carl is 5"0, smaller than most fourteen-year-olds in her district. Her eyes are a dark brown, appearing almost black. Her thick black hair that reaches the top of her shoulders, with streaks of brown, usually appears dry. She has bangs that cover her left eye. Her hair curls at the end if it is let down. Most of the time she wears it in a ponytail and a clip, but she would sometimes put it up differently, or just let it flow down to her shoulder if it doesn't look as dry as usual.Personality:
Her hands and feet are smaller than most fourteen-year-olds. Carl naturally has the tan skin tone her father has, but because of her weekly adventures outside her home, it's become slightly dark. Her body is quite slim, not at all muscular, but then you can see that she is at least well-fed by her parents. Her thighs are somehow well-built, mainly because of walking so much. Her worst asset, as she'd say it, is the triangle-shaped birthmark on her shoulder, which is why she never wears sleeveless clothes except on special occasions, when she has to. Her cheeks are slightly plump, and her face is an almost perfect circle.
Unlike most girls though, she doesn't like to put on a lot of make-up, powdering her cheeks a little will already do for her. Whenever she ventures outside of her home, she only wears either checkered polo shirts or t-shirts, knee-length to full-length jeans, and closed shoes. She doesn't like wearing dresses that much, her fashion sense just isn't as strong as anyone else. Carl also wears a pearl necklace and pearl earrings all the time, which is significant to her, earning her the nickname "Pearl Girl".
Carl is happy most of the time, but a lot of things pretty much annoy her. When she is frustrated, she rants as much as what she can say, most of them about the most annoying people in school. She's not the quiet type, but she knows the proper time to talk. Despite the fact that the Truces are one of the richest families in the district, she is actually quite humble. Since she isn't good at socializing, it takes time for her to befriend other people because she feels awkward. She acquaints people easily when they're in her class, or when she likes that person very much. Although she had to build some guts to be friends with them, she knows a lot of people and have regular communications with most of them, at least.History:
Carl is also the picky kind, especially when it comes to food and clothing. As stated in her appearance, dresses, skirts, blouses or anywhere close to those, are the last pieces of clothing she'd want to wear. As in food, she loves fruits and berries, but she doesn't eat vegetables that much.
Carl actually loves to go to different places. Her adventures with her father are one of her ways to connect with nature, to get out of her daily lifestyle, and escape from her usually insane older siblings. She is really interested about the information her father gives out to her. She is afraid of climbing trees, encountering canines and insects, and swimming below 5 feet, unless there's a surface to hold on to. Her father convinces her that she is a good swimmer though, but somehow she just doesn't feel courageous enough to risk going underwater.
Carl likes being with her friends, but she likes it better when she's all alone, concentrating on the thoughts that cloud her mind, without anyone there to distract her, usually contemplating on her existence or everything about the world around her. The walks she takes by herself gives her a broader image of her thoughts, helping her think easily. What she would do during her spare time usually have something to do with her thoughts; she would write them most of the time.
Carliene is the youngest of four children. She has two older sisters, Liz and Criselda, 20 and 18 respectively, and a brother, William, 16. She was born on mid-June, which is why she got her pearl accessories, her birthstones. She got her pearl earrings when she turned eight from her sisters, which they bought at the little shop beside their parents' factory. Her pearl necklace was from her brother, as a gift for her on her 12th birthday, when she signed up for the reaping.Codeword: odair
Carl gets the least attention in the family, despite the fact that she's the youngest. When she turned 3, her father had occasionally been there to help her explore her little world which is District 1, if he was not that busy in his luxury stuff work. As she grew older, her father took her to farther places, for exercise and for some handy information. On some days, her father wasn't available at the moment, so she goes on walks by herself, remembering to stay close to her home.
Her mother didn't let her watch the Games until Carl was seven, thinking the gore images of the Bloodbath, or the poor tributes who die a silent death because of hunger, would haunt her for the rest of her life, especially during her reaping years. Her father talked her mother into it, stating that if Carl wasn't aware of the games soon enough, she won't fully understand the whole point of her signing up for the reaping. When she started watching them, she was, in fact, just as interested in the Games as her father's lectures about Panem. She was particularly fond of the Career Tributes, mainly because two of them belonged to District 1, and when one of them dies, she would be sad for awhile, and continue watching.
When Carl turned 12, the year she was eligible for the reaping, her family encouraged her to join the Career training. Her two older siblings attend it, although they haven't been Careers since their names weren't drawn yet. Unlike them, though, she was actually hesitant about attending it because: one, she was socially awkward; two, she wasn't sure if she's fit to be a Career; and three, she wasn't sure of what she's good at. During her walks, she would pick up a large, round stone and hurl it somewhere nobody will get hurt, but she's not sure if those kinds of things are what Careers are only supposed to be good at. Still, Carl still continues to build some spirit to convince herself that Career training will help her a lot; in making friends, being a Career, and also discovering her strength.
Comments/Other:
I actually found it interesting, role-playing a confused Career. Unlike most Careers, well, Carl isn't just sure if she has the Career material, the strength, the brutality and all, even if she's from District 1, and come on, she's from a wealthy family. She will be a fun character for me to role-play here. That is all. :D
