Appearance: Emerald has very long medium-brown curls (may look blond sometimes) and waves, and she has bangs (some pieces occasionally fall into her eyes, but she can pull them aside), with pieces of hair framing her face. She has big forest green colored eyes that darken when she gets angry. She was named after her eyes, which (mostly) sparkle, surrounded by thick, long lashes. Her skin tone is pretty pale, maybe even a little tan, and her skin is smooth.
Emerald prefers not to wear makeup, but to blend in with her district, she does wear a light amount. She normally wears flouncy, fairly short dresses with streaming ribbons in lavish colors like other girls of her district her age, and her ears are pierced (only once in each ear, although other trends may suggest otherwise). When she can sneak away , though, she wears fairly simple clothes, which she prefers. Boys may think of her as attractive, but she keeps to herself, except her best friend.
She is fairly tall, about 5'5", and at least 5'6" in high heels. Her trademark is her key necklace which is encrusted with small emeralds and diamonds. She feels confident with it, and even without it she is, but not as much.
Personality: Sweet but has a sharp tongue when provoked. Won't give up at anything she tries to do, although she normally succeeds at her first attempt. She is sweet but can be possessive of her best friend, Sapphire (who despite the name is, yes, a boy). She is a great actor.
If you've ever done anything to her, she can come across as a total sweetheart at first, then stab you in the back. Normally, she really is charming, though, and only a handful of people really have ever disliked her. Great but deadly, wonderful but dangerous. Not conceited or haughty, like a lot of people she's met before.

She most loves her bow and arrows, though, and would prefer archery. She was trained to start fires, figure out what to eat, drink, and to find your way in the wilderness, and many important defense and attack maneuvers. Her skills are combat and archery, mostly.
Her best friend, Sapphire, is a boy her age, blond hair, beautiful (in her opinion) blue eyes. They always thought it was a private joke, "Sapphire and Emeralds" are the most beautiful gemstones, they say. She never really had a crush on him, though, although she could never figure out how he feels. He has always been a brother to her. He calls her "Em" for short.
