Name: Jenya Soule
Age: 16
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Jenya is, by most standards, a pretty girl. She knows it too. At five feet eight inches, she stands taller than many around her, although she's no giant. She loves her height, and it certainly comes in handy during harvest time, to reach those top branches with far more ease than others around her. Jenya adores the long legs that accompany her stature, although doesn't hold as much love for the barely there breasts that seem to so often go with it. The reduced frontal weight does have it's positive, but that doesn't mean she doesn't want something remotely substantial.Personality:
Moving away from her chest and to her face, you'll probably be caught by her large, sky blue eyes. It is these that lead most people to think she's easily swayed - set in her round face that seems to keep its plumpness in all but the worst of conditions, they give her a distinct if wrong, appearance of innocence. They are set above a straight nose with a slight flare at the nostrils, and plump lips, the bottom quite a bit fuller than the top. On the occasions that you get a proper smile, you'll see it lights up her face, and reveals straight white teeth.
Like most people in the districts, away from the beauty obsessed capital, she isn't a flawless doll. A life time in the sunny fields of district eleven has left her with a heavy smattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks, that extends to her shoulders and down her back and arms, although less so, as these are covered by masses of sun stroked, blonde hair. If the eyes make people believe she's innocent, the hair certainly gives the misconception of foolishness. Left to it's own devices, it generally falls in soft curls a good ten inches below her shoulders, and in a side fringe across the far side of her face - although how soft and well behaved depends on how much time she's actually put into looking after it, and it's often not a whole lot. Her hands and legs have been left with a good deal of scratches and scars, although none too serious - not yet, anyway.
Jenya is no bimbo, and she's not a fool. She may appear open and cheerful, but she's learnt better than to open herself up to people. She'll be friendly, she'll be nice and pleasant and helpful. But she won't actually let you in, and probably won't tell you a whole lot about herself, not anything other than the shallow and superficial facts.History:
She's loyal to the few people that are close to her, but anyone that isn't best friend or immediate family is pretty much on their own. She's helpful, when she has the chance, and she'll do what she can without getting too involved. Like, someone doesn't know how to read, she'll give them a book to get them started, rather than ten months of private lessons. She's a hard worker, and prefers to put her head down (or up, depending on the season) and get the job done, and done properly. She hates when people only do half a job, and can't stand it when she's then expected to cover for their laziness.
She can be quite confrontational, and will prefer to stand up to someone, rather than let them walk over her, or think that they've gotten the better of her. Jenya hates to be wrong, and doesn't easily admit that she has been. She isn't a fighter, but she knows plenty of words and doesn't hesitate to use them on someone she's ready to give a talking down.
She generally acts pretty cheerful and friendly, and gets along with most people if she's forced to work with them. Apart from that, she likes to keep to herself, and doesn't go out of her way to make friends or get to know people. She's never been overly social, but she's gotten worse in the recent years. She's not shy as such, she just doesn't like people that much. She'd prefer to concentrate on her work, and has a tendency to count for her own amusement. She likes numbers - numbers are always reliable, a nice change from people. She has a sharp mind, and steady hands, and is quite a hand with a sickle and similar tools, from her time in the fields. She is also quite strong, and can work for hours.
Jenya has had a fairly normal childhood - well, normal for the districts. She was born into a large family that rarely had enough food, and never had enough room. Their house was a small one, and her childhood memories are full of her and her siblings making a racket, with her mother yelling at them all to stop being little trouble makers and try behaving sometime. She's the the second eldest, although should have been the third - her mother lost her first child, a baby girl, during childbirth. There was another miscarriage when Jenya was three, and a younger brother died when she was twelve, and he was only five. At sixteen, she has a brother at eighteen, a sister at fourteen, twin brothers at fifteen and another sister who is currently six.Codeword: <img src="http://i41.tinypic.com/16h2ibt.png">
They're a close family, and although her mother has always been stern, and was never hesitant to teach them a lesson with the wooden spoon on a backside, she did love them, and Jenya and her siblings knew it. They often went without. With so many children in the family, there was never a lot of anything to go around, despite the hard work of her father. He loves his children, and was a nice change from the quick temper of their mother, but was always tired when he got home from work, and Jenya didn't see as much of him in her earlier years, until she began to work alongside him.
The priority is always the younger kids, and as Jenya and her brother Tay got older, they took on the responsibility of looking out for the younger ones. They take tessarree annually, in an attempt to stop fifteen year old Jayk and Jessi, and fourteen year old Tally from having to enter into the dreaded games any more times than they have to.
Jenya has a particular hatred for the games, since they stole someone she loved. Her best friend from since they were both toddlers, Hent. He was the same age as Jenya, and at thirteen, was sent into the games. He didn't stand a chance, and wasn't a violent kid to start with. He lasted three days, managed to win a fight, in which Jenya saw the friend who she'd helped nurse a baby bird back to health with, only weeks ago, stab a fellow thirteen year old in the back. He was killed by the careers the next day, and Jenya was left broken hearted and shocked by the loss. Since then, she's grown into a much more reserved teenager, preferring to keep to herself. She can rely on herself - if she doesn't let herself care about others, then they can never let her down, never leave her hurt.
