Evelyn Mardonne

Just looking at Evelyn makes it obvious why she entered into the world of modeling.

Despite her relatively young fifteen years of age, this girl is quite mature-looking. She's very...endowed...and has a well-structured face with no baby fat left on it. Her eyes are medium brown, appearing hazel in certain lighting. She has a straight nose and a full mouth with naturally bright lips. Despite her blond hair, Evvie does not freckle easily; she tans. She obsesses over her hair and skin, contributing to her always-polished appearance.

Since money is not a problem in Evvie's family, she takes nice clothes for granted. She is most often seen in a tee-shirt, skinny jeans, and pumps; her outfits are never repeats, always eye-catching, sometimes ridiculous, and constantly complemented by a thick layer of makeup, most notably dark eyeliner and mascara.

Perhaps the most conspicuous aspect of this girl's appearance is the confidence that manages to shine through every garment and every coat of makeup. Evelyn Mardonne does not need her five feet and nine inches to cut an imposing figure; her self-assurance and unwavering surety have an immediate impact on everyone that sees her.

This young lady is an extrovert to the extreme. Without an ounce of self-consciousness, she rarely thinks before she says things, never troubling to look at herself through others' eyes. And not being particularly intelligent, Evvie's insights tend to exasperate the people around her. After all, she almost always says exactly what she means, and the fact that she will blurt out anything to cross her mind can make for some awkward, and sometimes hurtful, moments.

By this age, Evelyn knows that she is gorgeous. She isn't crafty enough to be manipulative - not intentionally, anyway. However, she doesn't keep boyfriends for long. If she dates them for more than a month, they invariably become fed up with her blunt ignorance and forthright emotions.
The odds are not in her favor.

Living in District Two means that it is not at all unusual that both of Evvie's parents are doctors. Her mother is quite high-ranking and her father is a surgeon. The two parents do love each other, though they sometimes get in bitter quarrels which are quickly covered up with discreet frostiness for a few days before things in the Mardonne household return to normal.

All that Mr. and Mrs. Mardonne ever wanted was for their beautiful, precocious daughter to become a doctor. Surely, they thought, she could use her social talents and study hard enough to gain prodigious skill in the medical world.
But Evelyn simply does not have the brainpower.
She loves her parents very much and wants to fulfill their wishes, but being doctor - especially in District Two - does require a certain amount of raw knowledge about science. No amount of effort or studying done by this girl could get her into the field of medicine. Even with her parents pulling strings for her.

Saddened by her failures, Evelyn tried to enter the world of modeling at fourteen. She was immediately accepted into the firms that she applied for, but they quickly realized that she lacked the talent. Though having ample dedication and willingness, the young girl simply could not model. All of her creative directors would flip through the results of her photoshoots, chuckling to themselves about the blank, dazed expression that cropped up in every picture.
Convinced that her rejection from the modeling firms was because she was more filled out than most models, Evvie entered into a rough patch where she toyed with anorexia. Fortunately for her, a combination of her lack of will to abstain from food and her parents' determination to keep her healthy brought Evelyn back to her senses.
She swallowed her pride, accepted her losses, and turned her back on modeling.

Now, Evelyn is aimless. She dropped all of her difficult classes, since she was failing all of them miserably (she was only put in them because her parents put pressure on the guidance counselor). After school, she hangs out with friends, flirts with random guys on the street, or hits the mall.

As a side note, Evvie takes after her parents in being pro-Capitol.
She enjoys watching the Hunger Games. No one she knows has ever been chosen, and she is too ditzy to imagine how she would feel if they were anyway.
