Age: 18
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 2
Appearance:
Marco is muscular, but not extremely tall. He is not at all unhealthy or underfed like most district children, though he is certainly not over weight. His large hands are powerful, but his long crookedd fingers make his hands clumsy. His skin is tan and often covered the grime that coats District 2.Personality:
His face is usually unemotional with sharp features. His eyes are the unusual brown of the Peacekeeper kids. Also unusual is his black hair, neatly spiked, and his rather pointy ears. The only thing ususal about his appearance was his square jaw and long bony nose. These he inherited from his mother.
Marco was raised to love the Capitol, and he still does. Marco believes the Capitol is running things perfectly. When you're running a country, it's better to be feared than loved. And Marco wants to be feared. His goal is to become Head Peacekeeper of District 2 by the time he's thirty. Maybe then he can even go on to become a Gamemaker for the Hunger Games or an official in the Capitol.History:
Marco's father, Quemar, once told him that he had the perfect mindset of a Peacekeeper. He was loyal to the Captiol, clever, amnipulative, merciless, unsentimental, and he knew how to follow orders. Marco also wasn't lacking in athletic ability. He scored top of his class in the training excersises and won the District 2 Festival wrestling competition every year. But what Marco really excels at is knife throwing. He loves to practice on the neighborhood cats. He doesn't mind killing them and never gets in trouble for it because he's the son of such a rich man.
There is a soft side to Marco, too. But it only ever shows itself when marco's around his girl friend. Falia is the daughter of the District 2 apothecary owner and, according to Quemar, beneath him. But Marco doesn't care. That's the one thing Quemar said that he ignored. Falia is the love of Marco's life and he would do anything for her. He'd even give up his life dreams if it meant keeping her.
Quemar has been a rich merchant for twenty years. Marco was born two years into Quemar's career when Quemar had an affair with a miner, District 2 native Saleen. Quemar managed to keep it a secret from his Capitol wife, but when Marco was born, she found out. She went straight to her cousin, President Snow, and the next day Saleen was publicly executed in the square. Only Quemar's wealthy status kept baby Marco from getting the same fate.Codeword: muttations
Despite expectations, Marco's father wasn't upset by the Captiol. Instead he was humbled, believing that the Capitol was right to end the affair. It wasn't good for anyone. This led to Marco's strict up bringing. When Marco first heard the story, he was furious, but Quemar taught him to see how the Capitol saw things and to agree with the Capitol...and Marco has.
Marco was nine when he discovered a way to acccelerate his career. All he had to do was win the Hunger Games. That would make every district fight for him as a Peacekeeper...and don't for get the money! And Marco would get to mentor other tributes, too! Talk about great status at the Capitol! Ever since he realized he wanted to enter the Hunger Games, he's been training to be a tribute whenever he wasn't training to be a Peacekeeper. He was already and expert with weapons, but what Marco needed was to learn Hunger Games strategy. He would sit in front of the TV for hours on end (there were no power shortages in Peacekeepers' homes) and watch tape after tape of previous Hunger Games and take notes. He was determined to become a tribute and win.

LOL. I guess you speak Spanish, too! Quemar...
And I hope that the rich merchant part is okay. Sorry about the Head Peacekeeper troubles.
