August Marie - District 3

People would think of August as more of a beautiful figure. She has long red hair, that has specks of blond here and there. She usually wears it in a braid along her back, sometimes in a ponytail. She has considered cutting her hair, but she decides not to, for she likes to play with it when she's stressed out.

She has big blue eyes, that are filled with green close to the pupil. She gets made fun of for her eye color, because it's so strange. People aren't used to the way she looks. She has a nose that is a bit smudged into her face. Her eyelashes are long and dark, going against her red hair. Her ears are of the normal size, with a slight slant in them.

Her eyebrows are the same shade as her hair is, and they are quite thin. Her build is strange from the others too, because she stands tall and a bit muscular.

Her clothing choices consist of darker clothes. Mostly of purple and black. She normally wears whatever she can afford, which isn't much. She usually wears t shirts that are deep in the neck, and jeans or cargo pants.

August has a long scar along her side, even though it happened years ago, it's still dominant and she tries to hide it constantly, which works with t-shirts and sweaters.

Most people would think, because she's a redhead that she's crazy, loud and absolutely horrid. But, she's the exact opposite. She's a quiet girl, that doesn't like to talk that much. The redhead in her comes out often, whenever she has to stick up for someone, or whenever she has to get something done.

She's often found quoting books that she finds, or humming softly. She's not one to judge on first appearance, but if you were to cross her then there would be one thing and one thing only that you could think about, pain.

She's more in the tougher crowd, even though she's quiet. She can hold her own, and she doesn't need anyone to look after her. Her sister often gets into arguments with her, because she changes moods so quickly. If something is bugging her, then she acts out on it. Maybe not in the loud way intended, but she's like a fox. She can get around without anyone realizing it.

She's extremely sarcastic, and likes to play jokes. Most of her friends have her be the one to pull the pranks, for she is so quick on her feet and she's extremely stealthy.

August has some trust issues, but nothing that could keep her from giving some help to someone who looked like they'd need it.

August is not the dirtiest person, but she's not the most spick and span either. She leaves clothing around her side of the house, but often cleans up everything on her sisters and fathers side, for they can't really do it by themselves.

When August changes moods, it's usually triggered by something, not a certain someone. If someone says something that insults her, or how crazy her family is then she goes absolutely ballistic. She's been like this ever since her father started to shun her, and ever since her sister started to go crazy.

August Marie was born into a quite unhealthy family, that had a lot of psychological problems. Her father was a bitter drunk, always hoarding any alcohol that he could get his hands on. Her mother had passed whenever she was born. Her father drinks to deal with the pain that was brought upon them, and looks at August as a disgrace.

August has one sister, who is in her early twenties. She is unmarried, and still resides with August and their father. Her sister, Melony often finds her fathers assumptions about August completely uncalled for. But, sometimes August proves them right, for when they get into arguments it's not exactly the best thing to see. Whenever August's father will go and say something against August, she'll act out on it, and Melony will see how August really is, and the way that their father see's her.

August is the only 'normal' one her in family, even though she throws fits once in awhile. Her sister often talks to herself, cowering in corners and screaming at unseen figures that 'dance' in her head. August takes care of both her father and her sister.

When August and her sister were younger, they used to play on the edge of the house, in dirt, in dust. One day, Melody had one of her episodes, and started screaming at the top of her lungs. August had tried to calm her down by smoothing her hair back, but that didn't work out as well as she had hoped for.

Melody lashed out, by grabbing a shovel and cutting against her neck. The wound was not fatal, but she was rushed to the hospital immediately to fix any damage. Therefor, you can find a long pink scar on her side, which she obviously covers up with shirts and jackets(when it's cold outside, obviously.)

Melody continues to grieve about that, in her head some part of August is dead due to that incident.

August constantly has to take care of her sister and dad, or else everything would go absolutely insane. August's father still hasn't warmed up to her, he still blames August for his wife's death, and often rages about it. Saying how Melody is the perfect child, when it's the other way around.

Whenever August was about twelve, she was messing around with some friends, and they were climbing up the sides of the buildings unsuccessfully. But, whenever August had tried, she got up with ease. People told her it was her legs and her body type that helped her shimmy her way up the sides of the buildings, but her sister told her that she was part spider, for nobody else could go as quick as she could.

Whenever she can, she escapes out of the house, and just climbs onto the tops of the houses, running along the tops, causing panic for the people below. It was a joke for her, something to get her mind off of things. She's pretty mean with a knife. She helps with the cooking and the trading, she can often be found skinning the animals and cooking them.

Even though Melony is fragile, August takes it upon herself to make things better for Melony. Whenever Melony starts to rage, everything goes downhill. Melony's mood swings are a lot different from August's because, most of the time August is angered. But, most of the time Melony is just trying to help August.
Their mood swings trigger the others.

This is my first character, hope it suffices.
