Delilah Brighton ~ District Five

Delilah is a small built child, and even though she is fed well, she is very skinny. She is petite and delicate, like a flower. Even though she seems as though she might snap at times, she is also strong, just like every other child her age.

Her hair is very long, almost to her waist, and slightly wavy. It is a deep, dark chocolate brown colour, with lighter and darker strands here and there. It seems to engulf her and at times one would think that such a small child could not hold up so much hair. She usually wears it in a plait, though alot of stray strands end up in her face.

Delilah's face is small and delicate, with pretty features. She has wide, pale blue eyes and long eyelashes. She has a number of freckles on her face. Her skin is slightly tanned, but it is also quite pale compared to others, which can sometimes make her appearance give off the impression that she is sick.

Delilah has a good posture, and always stands very straight. Her hands are usually at the strayed strands of hair, twirling them, which is a habit of hers.

Delilah is soft spoken. She is often seen standing with people, but rarely seen speaking. Sometimes people even forget she is there. She is very energetic, but never giddy or loud. She is usually seen with a rather solemn expression, with the slightest smile, which makes people think she is never happy, but she is. She is in fact always happy, but rarely chooses to show it.

Delilah is sweet and caring at the best of times. When someone needs comforting, her small hand is always there to grip theirs, when someone is sick, she is always there with her own blanket if need be. She is willing to sacrifice everything at any given moment, whether for family or friends.

Delilah is also very kind, and when she does speak it is often very meaningful. This is because she is quite intelligent, though never shows it. Delilah is also very shy, and very affectionate, but those two traits often clash when she tries to show affection and her shyness makes her unable to do so.

Delilah never speaks up for herself or for others, though she is tough and will stand up for others in her own silent way. She often gets nervous, which is why she has the habit of running her fingers through her hair or playing with strands of hair, to overcome or to ignore her nervousness.

Delilah has many flaws, though her sweetness and compassion make most of the people she knows think the best of her and never the worst. She can be obsessive, and has plenty of bad habits.

Another flaw of Delilah's is that she struggles to harm things. It isnt something that the girl can do. She doesnt even attempt to hurt things, for she knows she cant. The thought of the Hunger Games makes her sick to the stomach, because killing is even worse than hurting, and Delilah isnt capable of either thing.

Delilah adores animals, which may be why she can't hurt them. To love animals is a characteristic all District 5er's have, but she seems to love them more than some. She is gentle and calm, and so when she does come across an animal she is usually very good with it.

There isnt much to Delilah's past, because she is so young. She was born on the 7th of July to Tamara Brighton, who died giving birth to her, and Icarus Brighton, her father. They thought she was going to die soon, for she was so frail and sickly looking at birth, but she proved them wrong and pulled through.

Delilah's sister, Anastasia Brighton, who was five at the time of her birth, was immediately jealous, and would often hide her in strange places in hopes of her not being found. Soon though, this jealousy faded, and the two sisters were the best of friends.

As the two girls grew, they became inseperable. When Anastasia to go to school, it was often hard to make Delilah stay home and watch her leave, and when Delilah herself had to go to school, it was even harder, for they were in different classes. They thought that Delilah would not do well in school, because her mother had died and she had been ill, and she was distant when without her sister. But, to once again prove them wrong, the girl did quite well. In fact, they were surprised to find that she was intelligent.

As Delilah grew older, Anastasia and her began to seperate. Their father was caught talking about rebellions by PeaceKeepers and was taken away to a detention center. He did not return, and even though they hoped for the best, he died, though they did not find out, and still believe he is alive.

At this time, Anastasia was already 15, and could independently live, so she took on the job of caring for Delilah. They were frowned upon for not finding relatives or some other way to live, but they had no known relatives and just had to continue.

Delilah grew, as did Anastasia, who is now 17 years old. Delilah survived when the bets were against her, and did not give up, nor does she ever intend to.

Delilah has a sister named Anastasia (making her form now), whom she loves dearly.

Also, if Anastasia was ever in a reaping, Delilah would step in for her. ((so if Delilah was chosen to be in a hunger games, would there be any possibility of you saying that Anastasia was to play in the games, and then get Delilah to step in?))
