Zane Prestwood [D7]

At first glance, Zane's appearance is fairly normal for a boy living in District 7. He stands at six feet, and weighs around 217 pounds. He is muscular, being a construction worker. He has shaggy brown hair which hangs over his ears. The back of his hair reaches down to the base of his neck, while his bangs hang just below his eyebrows, barely touching his dark blue eyes. His skin is tan, and mostly glistens from sweating in the sun. He always appears dirty as well. His face isn't really anything special. He has a hawk-like nose, and his mouth is too big for his face. He usually wears a frown.

His daily attire consists of a light brown, button up short sleeve shirt. He always leaves it unbuttoned. He wears black pants and boots. His clothes are always soaked in sweat and dirty at the end of each day.

His feet are very large. He wears a size 15 shoe. His hands are rough and callused from years of construction. Zane also walks with a slight limp. His limp was caused by a construction accident when he was thirteen. He has many scars all over his body, and his fingers have many marks from hammer mishaps and other tool-related injuries.

Zane Prestwood is the definition of a weird person. He is completely random in just about anything he says, thinks, or does. He doesn't have many friends because of his odd, awkward, and sometimes embarrassing nature. He will say very awkward things and even dance for no reason. The friends that do associate with him are, in many ways, like him. Although weird, he is easy to get along with if you take the time, and can be a funny person. He is one of the best choices for a friend, because he is not prejudiced towards anyone.

Paranoia is one of his bad qualities. He is constantly afraid of being stabbed in the neck. He cannot sleep unless his neck is covered by a blanket. This fear often causes him to lose a lot of sleep and appear tired. He only trusts himself with anything sharp. He has an extreme phobia of insects and arachnids. He is also afraid of being rejected by those he trusts.

Zane is a chivalrous person. He loves to defend people and help people whenever they need it. Zane hates men who treat women poorly. One of the reasons he hates the capital is because of their treatment toward women. Zane will seriously injure a man if a man attacks a women. While this may be a very good trait, it would prove extremely difficult if he were to enter the games.

Talking is what he does best, and he does talk...A lot. It's hard to shut him up, and when he does shut up, it's only for a short amount of time. Zane is also gullible and too trustworthy. He will almost always believe what he is told, and it has turned out bad a few times in his life.

Zane was born in District 7. His mother dies from internal bleeding when he was born, leaving him with his father and older sister. He was educated by his sister, and his father engraved virtues and morals into Zane. By the time he was 12, he began working and learned more from his father. When he was thirteen, he was walking to another workplace when a beam above him snapped and completely crushed his foot. He couldn't walk for 3 months.

He lived his life like any normal District 7 worker. He continued to excel at working and constructing things, such as homes and tools and even wooden weapons. He learned new things often and loved to construct different objects. Even in his spare time he would make small things out of wood.

His social life was decent. He only had two friends who he really trusted. You could say he even loved Deadra. She was his favorite, but he would never say that. He was very protective of her, and had his fair share of fights whenever a boy put her down because she didn't look as "good" as the other girls. One day, when Zane was walking with her through town, two of her tormentors casually walked by and shoved her down. The fight between Zane and the two lasted for twenty minutes. Zane left the fight with a cracked rib, black eye, and a bloody nose, but he managed to break the nose of one of them and snap the other's arm before the Peacekeepers intervened and punished the three boys.

When he was sixteen, his father passed away after having a stroke. He was left to live with his 26 year old sister. His father's death didn't affect him as much as it would have others. He learned how to move on quickly. Now Zane just lives his life as he always has, working and living with his sister and seeing his two friends as the days pass...
