Appearance:
Jay is a short boy at 5 foot 1 inch. He is skinny boy, which may be due to his living in the Seam all his life. Jay has long, shaggy brown hair. Jay has dark skin because of the time he spends outdoors hunting. His eyes are blue, but shares hints of green as well.Personality:
He can hold his own in a fight, but is not the strongest out there. He has small arms, but that can sometimes fool you. He is handy in close combat with knives and loves his trusty bow and arrow.
Most of the time, Jay wears very ragged clothing, but that is because he has little money. Though he has good clothing, like his leather vest and khaki pants, he avoids using them except for important occasions. As he is mostly in the forest hunting, it is better for his mother if he uses more ragged clothing. His usual outfit consists of athletic pants his mother made for him and a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt is very important to him. It was knitted by his father only a week before he died. It is almost like an athletic jersey. It reads DISTRICT across the front and EVERWING on the back for his last name. As for the number on the jersey, it is nine because of his disctrict. If he were to be chosen for the Hunger Games, he would wear the sweatshirt to support where he came from.
Jay is a very mature boy of his age. He has been called upon by his family numerous times to provide them with food in times of struggle. He is not like the other boys in Disctrict Nine. He may seem ragged and beaten, but he always has a smile on his face and has a great attitude towards life.History:
He is also very caring and nice. He regrets having to kill animals for food, but he knows that it is the only way he can survive.
When in combat, Jay prefers to have his trusty bow and arrows in hand, but it also handy when it comes to knives and short-range combat. He is one of the few people he knows to be able to use a throwing knife with accuracy.
Jay never gets upset and is very even-tempered. He maintains his temper well and does not hold grudges. If someone attempts to beat him up at school, he swiftly "sweeps the leg" on them and helps them get up, telling them sorry as he does so.
He struggles with public speaking. He believes that if he made it into the Hunegr Games, that would be the hardest part. He is not very social, and that hurts him when he has to get up in front of people. He has tremendous stage fright and does not like being by himself in front of people. Another thing, he does not want to be boring, and sometimes he is. He is not funny and is more about stating facts than anything.
He, though nice, has a weak spot in his kindness: the Capitol. The Capitol annoys him constantly. He cannot understand how they can treat the hungry people of Panem how badly he does. As the Capitol takes little note of people in the Seam, he has never been punished for his views. Jay dispises the vile Hunger Games. He belives they are a cruel way to punish the rebels. Throughout his short life so far, he has searched through District Twelve for anyone, aside from himself, who shares his views and also wants to find and join rebels. So far, he has only found one: Grace Robinson, his girlfriend.
He is also quite lonely. With his father gone, it is hard for him with so little people in the house. His real only comforts are Grace and Mother, and sometimes even that's not enough.
Though nice, he can be demanding at times. If something doesn't go his way, he can easily get unhinged. He wants it his way, and there isn't much getting aroung that.
Aside form the Capitol, he has one main enemy, Jeremy Rodriquez. Jeremy is a big guy that goes to school in District Nine. He is the school bully and pushes people around like scum. He especially dislikes Jay. This is because of his liking of Grace. Jay once proved to him that he was weak when he dropped his books and fell when someone tripped him in the hallway, and Jeremy has never looked back. He has shoved him in lockers, attempted to shoot him with an arrow, and far worse.
Jay was born on April 22. His dad died when he was five years old and though his mother tells him many a story, he remembers little about him. His mother does her best to run her own clothing shop, but it is a lot of work, and Jay is called upon to collect food for the family most nights.Codeword: odair
He is an only child, but that does not mean there aren't other people in his house. When he was ten, he met a girl by the name of Grace Robinson at the district school. They instantly became great friends and are girlfriend and boyfriend. Jay spends most of his time either, at school, in the forest hunting, or with Grace.
He is a really good hunter, even comes down with the occasional turkey. He is fantastic at all things hunting. He is a good trapper, trader, hunter, and knows the most about plants than anyone he knows, aside from Grace. Sometimes, he would even bring Grace into the forest with him and he would teach her how to hunt and gather. She already knew a lot about plants so all moved smoothly.
His mother is usually quite bright and approves of Grace (that's always a good thing). She makes wonderful soup and can make a stew finer than anyone in Panem, the mayor said. He is going to be entering his second year of having the oppurtunity to enter the Hunger Games. He has a had a happy past and that has a lot to do with his great friendships.
His happy past began when he was born on April 22. He lived happily for five years, until his dad was accidentally shot while hunting rabbit when he was five years old. He struggled through the next couple of years until he went off to school. That was when his life started to turn around. He began working with a bow and arrow and became very good at it. He eventually began to bring in large amounts of food for him and his Mother. Then, when he was ten years old, he met Grace, and he became happier than he ever has. He started bringing in extra food for her family and he did so happily. He began to take her out with him to hunt, and it became even better. To this day, he continues to live happily with his Mother and Grace.

If you are wondering, I am currently in the process of creating Grace Robinson.
